Job Title: Special Educator

Department: Special Education / Inclusive Education

Reports To: Principal / Head of School / Special Education Coordinator

1. Job Summary

A Special Educator provides individualized educational support to children with special educational needs, including children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and other developmental or physical disabilities. The educator helps students develop academic, social, emotional, communication, and independent living skills in an inclusive and supportive learning workplace.
1. Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Identify students’ learning needs through observation, assessment, and consultation with parents and professionals.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on students’ abilities and needs.
- Adapt teaching methods, learning materials, and classroom activities to support individual learning requirements.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group instruction to students with special needs.
- Support students in developing communication, social interaction, behavioral, and daily living skills.
- Monitor students’ academic progress and maintain accurate records of assessments and achievements.
- Collaborate with regular classroom teachers to promote inclusive education.
- Work with parents, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support student development.
- Use appropriate assistive devices, educational technology, and multisensory teaching strategies.
- Promote positive behavior, emotional well-being, confidence, and independence among students.
- Ensure a safe, accessible, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in parent meetings, staff meetings, training sessions, and school-related activities.




- Maintain confidentiality of students’ educational, medical, and personal information.

1. Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, as required for the position.
- Relevant specialization, such as Intellectual Disability, Learning Disability, or other recognized areas of special education.
- Valid RCI registration, where applicable and required for the role in India.

- Freshers with the required qualifications may apply.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.

1. Working Conditions

The Special Educator will work in a school, inclusive classroom, special education unit, or other educational setting. The role may involve individual instruction, small-group teaching, classroom support, parent interaction, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
