SKD INTERIORS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED is a growing commercial interior fit-out and interior execution company based in Kochi, Kerala.

We undertake complete interior execution for hospitals, hotels, commercial buildings, corporate offices, showrooms, retail spaces, residential and large commercial projects.

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong SITE ENGINEER – INTERIOR FIT-OUT & PROJECT EXECUTION who can take responsibility for day-to-day site execution, manpower supervision, quality, materials, coordination, reporting and project progress.

THIS IS A HANDS-ON SITE EXECUTION POSITION.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- SITE EXECUTION & DAILY WORK MANAGEMENT
- Manage and supervise daily interior works at project sites.
- Ensure work is progressing properly every day.
- Plan daily activities and allocate work to workers and subcontractors.
- Monitor site progress against project schedules.
- Identify delays and take corrective action.
- Coordinate different trades to ensure smooth execution.
- Ensure work is completed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- INTERIOR FIT-OUT KNOWLEDGE – MANDATORY

The candidate must have practical knowledge of major interior fit-out works, including: CARPENTRY & JOINERY:
- Plywood, MDF, HDF and blockboard
- Laminates and veneer
- Cabinets and storage units
- Modular furniture
- Tables and counters
- Wall panelling
- Doors and frames
- Shutters
- Hardware
- Joinery and finishing works

GYPSUM & PARTITION:
- Gypsum board partitions
- False ceilings
- Bulkheads and ceiling drops
- Gypsum boxing
- GI framing
- Access panels
- Jointing and finishing

PAINTING & FINISHING:
- Putty
- Primer
- Interior painting
- Surface preparation
- Texture/feature finishes
- Touch-up works
- Final finishing

FLOORING:
- Tiles
- Vinyl
- Carpet
- SPC/LVT
- Wooden flooring
- Skirting
- Floor preparation and finishing

OTHER INTERIOR WORKS:
- Glass works
- Aluminium works
- Interior-related metal works
- Electrical coordination
- Plumbing coordination
- HVAC coordination

- Wall finishes
- Doors and hardware
- Other interior fit-out activities

The candidate should understand how these works are executed and should be capable of properly supervising and checking the work.
- MANPOWER & LABOUR SUPERVISION
- Supervise carpenters, gypsum workers, painters, flooring workers,



helpers and other site teams.
- Allocate work according to daily requirements.
- Monitor labour attendance and productivity.
- Coordinate skilled and semi-skilled manpower.
- Identify manpower shortages.
- Ensure workers are properly deployed.
- Maintain site discipline and productivity.
- DRAWING & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Read and understand architectural and interior drawings.
- Understand furniture drawings, elevations, sections and details.
- Understand ceiling and partition drawings.
- Check site measurements before execution.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
- Coordinate with the design/project team for clarifications.
- Ensure execution is as per approved drawings.

AutoCAD knowledge is preferred.
- MATERIAL MANAGEMENT
- Check material requirements at site.
- Coordinate with the purchase/procurement team.
- Check incoming materials and quantities.
- Verify material quality.
- Ensure proper storage.
- Prevent material damage and wastage.
- Inform management about material shortages in advance.
- Track material consumption and requirements.
- QUALITY CONTROL
- Check dimensions, levels, alignment and finishing.
- Inspect carpentry and joinery works.
- Check gypsum and ceiling works.
- Check painting and finishing quality.
- Check flooring and other interior works.
- Identify defective work immediately.
- Ensure rectification and proper finishing.
- Maintain the required quality standards.
- SUBCONTRACTOR COORDINATION
- Coordinate carpentry, gypsum, painting, flooring, glass, aluminium, electrical, plumbing and other subcontractors.
- Monitor subcontractor manpower.
- Ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Check workmanship and quality.
- Follow up on pending works.
- Ensure subcontractors maintain site discipline.
- CLIENT / CONSULTANT COORDINATION
- Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants and project managers.
- Attend site discussions and inspections.
- Clarify technical/site-related issues.
- Coordinate measurements and approvals.
- Follow up on client/consultant instructions.
- Ensure approved requirements are properly implemented.
- DAILY REPORTING

Prepare and submit regular site reports covering:
- Daily manpower
- Work completed
- Work in progress
- Materials received
- Material requirements
- Site issues
- Labour issues
- Delays
- Client/consultant instructions
- Next-day work plan
- Site photographs
- Overall project progress




- PROJECT SCHEDULE & DEADLINE CONTROL
- Monitor daily and weekly targets.
- Ensure planned work is completed on time.
- Identify delays at an early stage.
- Coordinate additional manpower when required.
- Follow up with subcontractors.
- Maintain continuous site productivity.
- Support timely project completion.
- MEASUREMENT & QUANTITY CHECKING
- Take site measurements.
- Verify completed work quantities.
- Understand BOQ items.
- Check material quantities.
- Verify subcontractor measurements.
- Coordinate with the estimation/QS/project team when required.
- SITE PROBLEM SOLVING

The Site Engineer must be capable of handling practical site issues such as:
- Drawing discrepancies
- Material shortages
- Labour shortages
- Incorrect measurements
- Trade coordination issues
- Poor workmanship
- Delayed subcontractors
- Client changes
- Work sequencing problems

The candidate should be proactive and capable of finding practical solutions instead of waiting for instructions for every issue.
- SAFETY & SITE DISCIPLINE
- Ensure proper PPE and safe working practices.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Ensure safe material storage.
- Monitor protected use of tools and equipment.
- Report major safety issues immediately.
- SNAGGING & HANDOVER
- Inspect completed works.
- Prepare snag lists.
- Coordinate rectification.
- Check final finishing.
- Follow up on pending works.
- Support client/consultant inspections.
- Ensure the project is ready for handover.

IMPORTANT NOTE

This position requires hands-on experience in commercial interior fit-out execution, site supervision, manpower management, quality control and project coordination.

Candidates with only theoretical knowledge or experience unrelated to interior fit-out execution may not be suitable for this role.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
