Discrete Event Simulation Specialist – Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation

Location: RCP, Mumbai | Experience: 6–9 Years | Function: Digital Twin / Simulation

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Discrete Event Simulation Specialist with strong hands-on expertise in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation to develop simulation-based Digital Twins for manufacturing,

logistics, warehouse, and material-handling systems.

The candidate will be responsible for modelling, analysing, and optimizing production processes to improve throughput, resource utilization, capacity, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Discrete Event Simulation models and Digital Twins using Tecnomatix Plant

Simulation.

Model complete manufacturing systems including machines, production lines, buffers,

operators, conveyors, AGVs, forklifts, cranes, and material flow.

Develop hierarchical models covering individual processes, production lines, shops, and complete plants.

Create Production Replay and animated simulation models to replicate production-line behaviour.

Perform What-If scenario analysis for capacity planning, line balancing, resource optimization, and process improvement.

Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, resource conflicts, WIP, queue time, and throughput limitations.

Simulate and optimize warehouse, logistics, material handling, and buffer/storage systems.

Support plant layout and capacity planning through simulation-based analysis.

Develop simulation models for throughput improvement and debottlenecking.

Validate simulation models against actual/planned production data and processes.

Develop simulation reports covering throughput, utilization, bottlenecks, manpower,



material flow, capacity, and logistics performance.

Present simulation results and provide data-driven recommendations to Engineering,

Manufacturing, Operations, and Project teams.

Required Skills

3+ years of relevant experience in Discrete Event Simulation.

Strong hands-on experience with Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation.

Strong knowledge of SimTalk scripting and simulation model development.

Experience in manufacturing process, production-line, logistics, and material-flow simulation.

Knowledge of throughput optimization, bottleneck analysis, capacity planning, line balancing,

and resource optimization.

Ability to interpret plant layouts, process flow diagrams, cycle times, production plans, and equipment data.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

Good to Have

Experience with FlexSim, or other DES tools.

Knowledge of Python, data analytics, and database integration.

Experience in Digital Twin development and 3D visualization.

Experience with large-scale greenfield manufacturing projects.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree in Industrial Engineering / Operations Research will be an advantage.
