Role & responsibilities
- Modeler should work along with the PM and APM to organize a Pre-detailing meeting to go through all the scope items of the project to make sure that all the team members understand the complications, critical details, and significant aspects of the project and the client.
- Missing details, details that need clarification must be raised as an RFI to the client.
- The Modeler must make sure that the RFIs related documents are well prepared and provided to the APM well before the time for him / her to prepare and send the RFI to the client to avoid any submission delays.
- As a normal thumb rule, the RFIs should be sent 5 days or earlier before the submission date (not counting the QC checking days). This does not suit for small projects with short schedule timeline.
- The Modeler should make sure that all the RFIs submitted are tracked via model members by making these members on hold and making sure that the team does not accidentally release the drawings.
- The Modeler needs to track whether all the RFI responses are received well before the submission dates. If the responses are not received; the Modeler needs to inform the APM or PM about the possible delay/ hold in the submission either partially or completely.
- The Modeler needs to make sure that the team has incorporated all the RFI answers received from the client, including the client / GC/ or any other trades that might affect our scope of work.
