About the Role

Skillthread Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a U.S. financial services client project.

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineering professional with strong experience in functional, backend, integration, and ETL testing across enterprise financial systems. The role combines financial domain expertise, automation engineering, and practical use of Microsoft technologies and AI-assisted testing.

Key Responsibilities

- Define test approaches, assess change impact, and design comprehensive scenarios from requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing across financial applications and third-party platforms.
- Validate financial workflows covering transaction processing, trade lifecycle, settlements, payments, treasury operations, accounting interfaces, and reconciliation, as applicable.
- Test APIs, file interfaces, batch jobs, and asynchronous processing, including exception handling, retries, duplicate prevention, and recovery.
- Perform ETL testing covering source-to-target mappings, transformations, full and incremental loads, data quality, and migration validation.
- Use advanced SQL to reconcile source and target data, financial reports, and downstream outputs.
- Develop and maintain reusable automation across UI, API, backend, and data layers using Playwright, Python, and appropriate testing frameworks.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.
- Investigate defects across applications, databases,



and integrations; communicate business impact and support resolution.
- Apply AI-assisted tools to test design, automation development, data investigation, and reporting, independently validating generated outputs.
- Build or enhance QE workflows using Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio agents, and Power Automate.
- Maintain test traceability, execution evidence, defects, and release readiness reporting in Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and U.S. client stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

- 6–12 years of hands-on QA / Quality Engineering experience with strong functional, backend, integration, and ETL testing expertise.
- Strong financial services domain knowledge and experience testing commercial banking, capital markets, treasury, or payment systems.
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise financial platform, such as Calypso, Bloomberg products or integrations, Integrity, ACH/wire payment applications, or comparable systems.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, aggregations, window functions, and data reconciliation.
- Strong ETL testing experience covering mappings, transformations, incremental processing, data quality, and exception handling.
- Strong API testing skills using Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or equivalent.
- Hands-on Playwright experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, including framework development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Python or another suitable language for backend automation,



data validation, and report comparison.
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps Boards, Test Plans, and Pipelines; Git; CI/CD; and DevOps practices.
- Experience testing Azure-hosted applications and integrations, including investigation through logs and monitoring tools.
- Strong working proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
- Practical experience using Microsoft 365 Copilot, building or testing Copilot Studio agents, and creating or validating Power Automate workflows.
- Demonstrable AI-assisted testing or automation experience, with the ability to explain its implementation, benefits, and limitations.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, risk-based testing, and defect management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical skills, and independent ownership in a remote client-facing environment.

Preferred Skills

- Direct experience with Calypso, Bloomberg integrations, Integrity, or U.S. ACH/wire payment workflows.
- Experience validating financial positions, cash flows, balances, valuations, accounting outputs, or financial reports.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or comparable cloud data platforms.
- Experience with UiPath Test Cloud / Test Suite, Tricentis Tosca, or AVO Assure.
- Experience implementing agentic AI workflows for testing, reconciliation, investigation, or reporting.
- Experience with BDD, Cucumber, and Gherkin.
- Experience validating batch performance, processing windows, and recovery scenarios.

Work Schedule

- Regular working hours: 2:00 PM–11:00 PM IST , including scheduled breaks, with daily overlap with U.S. client teams.
- Flexibility to work in shifts aligned with U.S. client requirements and provide support outside standard working hours when required.
