Company Description: The Leather Exchange (TLE) is a Kolkata-based leather goods manufacturer with over 25 years of industry experience. We specialise in premium wallets, handbags, business bags, and small leather goods, serving clients across India, Europe, and the Middle East.

Role Description: The Senior Merchandiser will oversee end-to-end merchandising activities for The Leather Exchange’s operations in the Greater Kolkata Area. This full-time, in office role involves planning product assortments, managing stock levels, and ensuring effective visual merchandising across retail locations.

The Senior

Merchandiser will analyse sales performance, track customer trends, and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to optimise product mix and promotional strategies. The role includes coordinating with suppliers, monitoring inventory movements, and implementing pricing and display plans to maximise profitability and customer satisfaction.

Merchandiser will also mentor junior team members, uphold brand standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in merchandising practices.

- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service and Retail skills to ensure a high-quality in-store experience and effective product presentation.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to support revenue growth, manage promotions, and influence buying decisions.
- Candidates should possess Marketing skills to align merchandising plans with campaigns and brand positioning.
- Experience in merchandising, inventory management, and visual merchandising in fashion, leather, or related retail segments.
- Ability to analyze sales data, forecast demand, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in product display and stock control.
- Proficiency in basic office and retail software; exposure to POS or inventory systems is an advantage.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
