Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Merchandiser – Home Furnishing to manage end-to-end product development, vendor management, costing, and order execution for our home textile and home decor lines. In this role, you will act as the bridge between internal design/buying teams, overseas/domestic vendors, production units, and retail or export clients to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and maximum margin profitability.

Key Responsibilities1. Product Development & Sourcing

- Lead seasonal product development across key home categories (bedding, bath, curtains, rugs, cushion covers, hard goods/decor) based on buyer tech packs, trends, and sales forecasts.
- Source fabrics, yarns, trims, weaves, prints, dyes, and raw materials aligned with design specifications and compliance standards.
- Coordinate sample creation (proto, fit, lab dips, strike-offs, PP samples, production samples) and follow up on buyer/client approvals.

2. Costing & Financial Management

- Negotiate target prices with factories, suppliers, and mills to maximize gross profit margins without sacrificing product standards.
- Build comprehensive cost sheets including raw material breakdown, labor, washing/finishing, packaging, freight, and target margins.
- Monitor purchase orders (POs), shipping budgets, and inventory turnover to optimize profitability.

3. Order Execution & Production Tracking

- Maintain and update the Time & Action (T&A;) Calendar to ensure all production milestones stay on schedule.
- Monitor bulk production progress with factories, anticipating delays or supply chain bottlenecks, and implementing corrective measures.
- Track material in-housing dates,



factory capacity, and pre-shipment inspections.

4. Vendor & Client Relationship Management

- Serve as the primary point of contact for international buyers, buying houses, or internal retail teams.
- Onboard and evaluate manufacturers, suppliers, and third-party testing labs based on performance, capacity, price, and compliance standards.

5. Quality Control & Compliance

- Partner with QA/QC teams to establish quality parameters, factory audits, fabric performance tests (colorfastness, shrinkage, tensile strength), and AQL inspections.
- Ensure products meet regional safety and compliance regulations (REACH, OEKO-TEX, BSCI, SEDEX, GOTS, etc.) depending on target markets.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion/Textile Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of core merchandising experience specifically within the home furnishing/home textiles industry.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of home textile constructions (woven/knitted fabrics, weaves, thread counts, prints, embroideries, finishes).
- Familiarity with product testing standards (FPT/GPT), compliance certifications, and laboratory procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP software (SAP, Lawson, or industry-specific tools) and advanced MS Excel/spreadsheet analysis.
- Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and price negotiation abilities.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication for buyer/vendor correspondence.
- Solid project management, problem-solving, and cross-functional team handling.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
