The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Design Engineer & Field Service Engineer (FSE). This is a unique, hybrid role ideal for a technical expert who thrives in both the design lab and on the fab floor. You will spend roughly 60% of your time leading the mechanical design of complex, high-speed automated machinery (e.g., die/wire bonders, molding systems, test handlers).

The remaining 40% will be spent in the field, serving as the lead technical authority during the installation, commissioning, and optimization of these systems at our customers' global cleanroom facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Design & Engineering (60%)

- Lead the end-to-end 3D CAD design (SolidWorks/Inventor) of high-precision automation equipment used in semiconductor packaging.
- Engineer high-speed pick-and-place mechanisms, multi-axis servo systems, and vibration-isolated structures requiring micron-level accuracy.
- Ensure all designs strictly adhere to ISO cleanroom standards and SEMI guidelines (SEMI S2, S8, F47).
- Conduct structural, thermal, and kinematic analyses (FEA/CFD) and oversee prototype fabrication and DFM/DFA reviews.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and software teams to integrate PLCs, sensors, pneumatic controls, and machine vision systems.

Field Service & Equipment Installation (40%)





- Lead in office installation, leveling, calibration, and commissioning of equipment at global OSAT and customer fab facilities.
- Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure strict adherence to performance metrics.
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex electromechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting on the fab floor.
- Conduct hands-on technical training for customer maintenance technicians and process engineers.
- Act as a critical feedback loop, documenting field performance data and failure modes to drive continuous improvement in future designs.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in custom machine design, with at least 3 years specifically designing equipment for semiconductor, ATMP, OSAT, or highly regulated precision automation industries.
- Design Tools: Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or PTC Creo) and comprehensive application of GD&T.;
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of precision actuators, linear guides, ball screws, robotics, and pneumatic components.
- Field Experience: Proven track record of installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems in customer-facing environments.
- Travel: Ability to travel globally up to 40% of the time, possess a valid passport, and adapt to flexible deployment schedules.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

- Direct experience with advanced packaging processes (e.g., Flip Chip, Fan-Out Wafer Level Packaging, System-in-Package).
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols (Class 100/1000) and ESD safety standards.
- Basic understanding of PLC programming and electrical schematics to aid in field troubleshooting.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate
