Are you an experienced Health Underwriter with strong medical risk assessment skills and a passion for making informed underwriting decisions? We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Health & Employee Benefits team.

? Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate health insurance applications, including new business, reinstatements, additions, and deductible changes.
- Assess morbidity risks and determine appropriate risk classifications in line with underwriting and reinsurance guidelines.
- Review medical histories, complex cases, co-morbidities, and high-risk applications.
- Ensure accurate and timely case assessment within the prescribed 24–48-hour turnaround time .
- Communicate underwriting decisions, additional requirements, and case updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage exclusions, appeals, and reconsideration requests.
- Maintain underwriting guidelines, documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with management and the Medical Director on complex underwriting cases.
- Support audits, reinsurance administration, case management,



and training initiatives.

✅ Required Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience .
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- FLMI and FALU designations are mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of health underwriting principles, medical risk assessment, and reinsurance guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
