Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, OpenMetadata / Collate, and Fivetran .

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of data engineering, lakehouse architecture, data ingestion, metadata management, data governance, platform administration, and performance optimization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Databricks

- Design, develop, and manage scalable lakehouse architectures.
- Build, monitor, and optimize data engineering pipelines.
- Work with Delta Lake, Apache Spark, PySpark, and Databricks SQL.
- Manage Databricks platform administration, access controls, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve pipeline reliability.

OpenMetadata / Collate

- Implement, configure, and administer enterprise data catalogs.
- Manage metadata ingestion, data lineage, classifications, and governance policies.
- Configure metadata workflows, integrations, and access controls.
- Monitor metadata synchronization and troubleshoot catalog-related issues.
- Ensure metadata accuracy, consistency, and data governance compliance.

Fivetran

- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data ingestion connectors.
- Monitor data synchronization processes and resolve connector failures.
- Optimize connector performance, reliability, and data integration workflows.
- Manage data ingestion from multiple source systems into cloud data platforms.
- Troubleshoot data replication and synchronization issues.

Required Skills

- 10+ years of overall IT experience with a strong background in data engineering and data platforms.
- Solid hands-on experience with Databricks , including lakehouse architecture, data engineering, administration, and optimization.




- Practical experience with OpenMetadata or Collate , including metadata management, data governance, lineage, and catalog administration.
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran , including connector configuration, data ingestion, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with data warehousing concepts.
- Valuable understanding of ETL/ELT processes and cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills are mandatory.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Python, PySpark, and Apache Spark.
- Experience with Delta Lake and modern lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with data platform migration and modernization.
- Understanding of data quality, governance frameworks, and security best practices.
- Technical leadership and solution architecture experience.
