Senior Accounts Manager – AR, AP & Controls (Team Lead)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on accounts leader to own our receivables and payables end to end across multiple sports infrastructure projects. You will make the day-to-day calls on billing, collections and vendor payments, lead and grow an accounts team, and report directly to senior management with clean, decision-ready numbers.

If you like owning outcomes, solving messy real-world problems (disputed certifications, vendor disputes, cash flow crunches) and building a team that does not depend on any one person, this role is for you.

What You Will Do Accounts Receivable and Collections

- Review and approve running bills, final bills and client invoices against work orders, measurements and certifications
- Own receivables ageing: set project-wise and client-wise collection targets, run weekly reviews and escalate overdue accounts
- Resolve certification delays, disputes and deductions with commercial and project teams
- Track retention money, security deposits, EMDs and bank guarantees, including release and renewal dates
- Decide when a recovery case needs legal action and coordinate with counsel
- Handle provisioning for doubtful debts and the related accounting

Accounts Payable and Vendor Management

- Approve vendor and subcontractor bills against POs, work orders and site measurements
- Plan and prioritise payments against cash flow and project needs
- Own vendor reconciliations and advance adjustments,



and resolve payment disputes
- Ensure MSME payment timeline compliance

Cash Flow, Reporting and Controls

- Prepare cash flow forecasts and project-wise receivable and payable positions for management
- Own monthly MIS, ageing analysis and variance commentary
- Drive month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, provisions and schedules
- Build and maintain internal controls, approval matrices and SOPs
- Coordinate with banks for BG/LC issuance, limits and statements

Compliance and Audit

- Own TDS/TCS, GST (including ITC reconciliation and returns) and other statutory compliance
- Lead statutory, tax and internal audits and handle auditor queries
- Manage income tax assessments and notices

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor and set KPIs for the accounts team
- Allocate work, review quality and build backup within the team
- Improve processes and automation in Tally/ERP and Excel

What We Are Looking For

- 6–9 years of experience, including at least 3 years independently leading an accounts team
- M.Com / MBA (Finance) or CA Inter; CA / ICWA preferred
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, Companies Act and Indian accounting standards
- Advanced Excel and hands-on Tally / ERP experience
- Proven record of managing collections, negotiating with clients and handling vendors
- Solid analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills

Good to Have

- Experience in construction, infrastructure or project-based businesses
- Familiarity with EMD, performance guarantees and retention-based billing
- Exposure to bank and audit interactions, including working-capital documentation
