Job Title: Academic Counsellor / Student Counsellor Minimum Experience: 1 Year of Relevant Experience Employment Type: Full-Time Location: [Insert Location] Job Overview We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Academic Counsellor to guide prospective students regarding courses, admissions, fees, career opportunities, and educational pathways. The candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of direct student counselling experience in an educational institution, training academy, college, university, or coaching institute. Candidates with general customer service, telecalling, or sales experience alone will not be considered eligible without relevant student counselling experience.

Key Responsibilities - Counsel prospective students about available courses, eligibility criteria, course duration, fees, and admission procedures.

- Understand students' educational backgrounds, career goals, and interests to recommend suitable courses.
- Handle student enquiries received through phone calls, WhatsApp, social media, and walk-ins.
- Follow up with interested students and convert enquiries into confirmed admissions.
- Explain course structures, payment options, batch schedules, and learning modes accurately.
- Communicate with students and parents to address their questions and concerns.
- Maintain accurate student enquiry records, counselling notes, follow-up schedules, and admission status in the CRM or admission management system.
- Meet assigned counselling, follow-up, and admission conversion targets.
- Coordinate with the academic and admissions teams to ensure a smooth admission process.
- Provide accurate information about career opportunities without making false promises regarding jobs, salaries, or placements.




- Submit daily activity reports and update student enquiry and admission records on time.

Mandatory Eligibility

Criteria - Minimum 1 year of actual student counselling experience in an educational institution, training academy, college, university, or coaching institute.
- Must have personally counselled students regarding course selection, educational options, or admissions.
- Must have experience handling student enquiries and conducting admission follow-ups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Malayalam and English.
- Basic computer knowledge, including email, spreadsheets, WhatsApp, and CRM or admission management software.
- Ability to work towards counselling and admission targets.

Preferred Qualifications - Degree in any discipline.

- Experience in professional training institutes, skill development centres, or career-focused academies.
- Experience handling online and offline admissions.
- Familiarity with student enquiry management systems and admission conversion processes.

Key Eligibility Condition

Candidates without a minimum of one year of direct student counselling experience are not eligible to apply. General telecalling, customer support, retail sales, or unrelated sales experience alone will not satisfy the mandatory experience requirement.
