Senior Project Manager SAP AMS | 15+ Years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – SAP AMS to lead large and complex SAP Application Management Services engagements.

The ideal candidate should have 15+ years of experience with a solid track record of managing SAP AMS engagements across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes, including S/4HANA Public Cloud and Private Cloud.

The candidate should have experience managing 5+ SLA-based AMS projects with team sizes of 50+, along with strong customer-facing, stakeholder-management, escalation-handling, and leadership skills.

Exposure to end-to-end S/4HANA implementation and SAP presales activities will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end delivery of SAP AMS engagements across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes, including S/4HANA Public Cloud and Private Cloud.
- Manage multiple large-scale, SLA-based AMS projects and ensure delivery against agreed SLAs, KPIs, quality, and timelines.
- Work closely with remote, offshore, and onsite Project Managers to ensure seamless delivery and coordination.
- Demonstrate excellent customer-facing and communication skills, with strong coordination across internal and client teams.
- Manage and coordinate large SAP delivery teams, ensuring effective collaboration, resource utilization, and delivery governance.
- Have successfully managed at least 5+ SAP AMS projects with 50+ team members, specifically in SLA-based engagements and not staffing projects.
- Understand customer pain areas, proactively address concerns, manage escalations, and drive customer satisfaction.
- Participate in and lead customer steering committee meetings, providing clear updates on delivery, risks, issues, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
- Establish and govern SLA/KPI frameworks, escalation models, governance processes, and executive reporting.




- Lead structured transition and knowledge-transfer (KT) programs for new AMS clients.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, service optimization, and operational excellence across AMS engagements.
- Lead project governance, risk management, issue resolution, and executive stakeholder communication.
- Support SAP presales activities, including RFP/RFI responses, solution discussions, estimations, proposals, and customer presentations.

Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of overall SAP experience, with significant experience in SAP project/program management.
- Strong experience managing SAP AMS engagements across ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Experience with S/4HANA Public Cloud and/or Private Cloud.
- Proven experience managing 5+ SLA-based SAP AMS projects.
- Experience managing 50+ member SAP teams across large AMS engagements.
- Staffing/project-based coordination experience alone will not be considered sufficient; candidates should have strong SLA-based AMS delivery experience.
- Strong customer-facing, communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proven experience handling customer escalations and steering committee meetings.
- Strong understanding of SLA, KPI, governance, escalation, and executive reporting frameworks.
- Experience working with onsite, offshore, and remote project managers/teams.
- Strong knowledge of SAP solutions, business processes, integrations, and delivery lifecycle.
- Proven end-to-end SAP implementation experience is preferred, with at least one E2E S/4HANA implementation preferred.
- Strong experience with SAP Activate methodology.
- Exposure to SAP presales, RFP/RFI responses, estimation, solutioning, and proposal development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
