Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP on BTP Developer / Consultant with strong expertise in modern SAP development, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing cloud-ready business applications using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), Core Data Services (CDS), OData services, and SAP Fiori Elements.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable SAP applications, exposing business functionality through APIs, implementing SAP BTP-based solutions, integrating SAP and third-party systems, and ensuring adherence to SAP Clean Core and ABAP Cloud development principles.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP ABAP and ABAP Cloud Development

- Develop and enhance custom SAP applications using contemporary ABAP 7.4/7.5+ and ABAP on HANA.
- Implement RAP-based applications using managed and unmanaged scenarios, behavior definitions, behavior implementations, and ABAP EML.
- Apply SAP Clean Core principles and ABAP Cloud development standards.
- Perform code remediation, ATC checks, performance optimization, and S/4HANA compatibility assessments.
- Develop reusable business logic and upgrade-safe custom extensions.

1. SAP BTP Application Development

- Develop and deploy SAP applications and services on SAP BTP.
- Utilize SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) and Eclipse-based ABAP Development Tools (ADT) for development.
- Deploy and support Fiori Elements and RAP-based applications in SAP BTP-enabled landscapes.
- Develop cloud-ready extensions using SAP-released APIs and supported extensibility approaches.
- Work with SAP BTP services and capabilities relevant to application development and enterprise integration.

1. SAP RAP, CDS Views and OData APIs

- Design and develop complex CDS Views, including interface, projection, consumption, and analytical data models.
- Develop OData V2 and V4 services for SAP and external application integrations.




- Implement Fiori Elements applications using RAP, CDS annotations, draft capabilities, and custom actions.
- Build custom entities and query provider classes for complex data retrieval scenarios.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs for master data synchronization, transactional processing, and third-party integrations.

1. SAP Integration and Workflow Automation

- Integrate SAP S/4HANA with external applications and enterprise platforms using OData APIs, REST APIs, BAPIs, and standard SAP APIs.
- Develop integration scenarios involving SAP Build Process Automation and workflow-driven business processes.
- Implement business validations, approval workflows, and automated transaction processing.
- Work with SAP BTP Document Management Service and other relevant BTP services as required.
- Troubleshoot integration failures and ensure data consistency between connected systems.

1. SAP Fiori and User Experience

- Develop SAP Fiori Elements applications, including List Reports, Object Pages, and analytical applications.
- Expose backend business functionality through CDS-based services and OData APIs.
- Modernize legacy SAP reports and applications using RAP, CDS Views, and Fiori Elements.
- Implement application-specific actions, validations, data downloads, and user interaction features.

1. Performance, Quality and Delivery

- Optimize data-intensive processing using SAP HANA, CDS Views, and AMDP procedures.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, defect resolution, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, solution architects, and integration teams.
- Participate in requirement gathering, technical design, code reviews, deployment, and production support.




- Follow development standards, transport management processes, and SAP Clean Core governance.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- 8–10 years of overall SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ABAP on HANA and SAP S/4HANA.
- Expertise in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including managed and unmanaged scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of CDS Views, ABAP EML, behavior definitions, and service definitions.
- Experience developing and consuming OData V2/V4 and REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori Elements.
- Working experience with SAP BTP application development and deployment.
- Knowledge of ABAP Cloud, Clean Core principles, and ATC checks.
- Experience integrating SAP systems with external applications using APIs and BAPIs.
- Proficiency in SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) and ABAP Development Tools (ADT).

Good-to-Have Skills
- SAP Build Process Automation.
- SAP BTP Document Management Service.
- SAP HANA AMDP and analytical CDS modelling.
- SAP Datasphere integration and analytical data exposure.
- Service Consumption Model (SCM).
- SAP Integration Suite or other SAP BTP integration capabilities.
- Experience with S/4HANA migration, transformation, and code remediation projects.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working on implementation, rollout, support, and transformation projects.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to technical design decisions.

Expected Experience The candidate should ideally have 8–10 years of SAP technical experience, with demonstrable hands-on development in RAP, CDS Views, OData services, SAP Fiori Elements, and SAP BTP. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to traditional ABAP reports and enhancements, without modern RAP and BTP development exposure, may not be suitable for this role.
