- Position: Safety Officer

Job Purpose: The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of safety systems, statutory compliance, and promoting a safe working environment across the plant operations. The candidate is expected to support the EHS department in driving safety culture and preventing incidents through continuous monitoring, training, and compliance.

Job Profile:

1. Safety Compliance & Monitoring

- Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Gujarat Factories Rules, Environmental and other statutory regulations.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections, hazard identification,



and risk assessments.
- Ensure use of PPE across plant areas and monitor unsafe acts/conditions.
- Maintain statutory records, permits, and documentation as required.

2. Incident Reporting & Investigation

- Report and record all near-misses, incidents, and accidents.
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain incident logs and prepare monthly safety reports.

3. Safety Trainings & Awareness

- Conduct induction safety training for new employees, contract workers, and visitors.
- Arrange toolbox talks, safety meetings, mock drills, and awareness sessions.
- Support in fire safety training and emergency preparedness drills.

4. Safety Systems & Documentation

- Assist in implementing and maintaining safety management systems (SOPs, WIs, PTW system).
- Ensure proper documentation related to audits, inspections, training, and statutory compliance.
- Implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and monitor compliance in critical operations.

5. Coordination & Support

- Coordinate with various departments for safety improvements and compliance.
- Support external and internal audits such as Factory Inspector, GPCB, and ISO audits.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure safety protocols and compliance.

Desired Profile:





- Bechelors Degree / PDIS with 2 to 4 years experience in Chemicals / Pharma API / Bulk Drugs / Agro Chemicals / Manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices and statutory requirements.
- Ability to identify hazards and take proactive safety measures.
- Robust knowledge of Factories Act, Gujarat Factories Rules, GPCB requirements, environmental regulations and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Hands-on experience in plant safety inspections, HIRA, JSA, risk assessment, unsafe act / condition identification and corrective actions.
- Good exposure to chemical handling, hazardous materials, PPE compliance, fire safety, emergency preparedness and industrial safety practices.
- Experience in incident/accident and near-miss investigation, RCA, CAPA and preparation of safety reports/MIS.
- Ability to conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, mock drills, fire & emergency training and safety awareness programs.
- Experience in handling internal/external audits, Factory Inspector, GPCB and ISO-related safety compliance.
- Good coordination skills with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, HR, contractors and other departments to drive safety compliance.
- Strong communication, documentation, observation and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach towards preventing accidents and improving workplace safety.
- Documentation, reporting, and basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Good communication and training skills.
