Role Description The Research and Outreach Intern is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting RegulatingAI’s research initiatives and community engagement activities. Day-to-day tasks include conducting literature reviews on AI policy and ethics, synthesizing research findings into clear briefs or summaries, and helping prepare content for reports, events, and online publications.

The intern will identify potential collaborators and stakeholders, assist with outreach campaigns, manage contact lists, and help coordinate virtual meetings, webinars, or panel discussions. Additional responsibilities may include drafting emails and outreach materials, supporting social media or newsletter updates, and tracking engagement metrics. The intern will work closely with team members,



attend regular virtual check-ins, and contribute ideas to strengthen RegulatingAI’s impact and reach.

Qualifications

- Strong research and analytical abilities, including literature review, source evaluation, and synthesis of complex information related to AI, technology policy, or ethics.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting summaries, briefs, emails, and outreach materials; explicit and professional English writing style.
- Organizational and project coordination skills, such as managing contact lists, tracking outreach activities, and supporting virtual event logistics.
- Digital communication and outreach skills, including familiarity with email tools, social media platforms, and basic online community engagement practices.
- Demonstrated interest in AI, public policy, technology governance, or social impact work, preferably through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a diverse, international team.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a program in fields such as public policy, international relations, computer science, data science, law, communications, or related disciplines is beneficial.
- Comfort with virtual collaboration tools (e.g., video conferencing, shared documents, project management platforms) and openness to learning new tools as needed.
