Role Overview The Regional Higher Education Sales Manager will own the complete B2B sales cycle for institutional partnerships with colleges and universities across the assigned region. The role is designed for an experienced higher education sales professional who brings an established network of institutional decision-makers and can convert that network into new signings, retained accounts, renewals, and expansion opportunities.
The manager will independently lead regional business development, complex procurement and RFP processes, post-sale account management, and government/education ecosystem engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full B2B sales cycle with colleges and universities across the assigned region, from opportunity identification and stakeholder engagement through negotiation and closure.
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional decision-makers, including Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Registrars, Placement Officers, and IQAC Coordinators.
- Use an established higher education network to build a qualified regional pipeline and accelerate new institutional signings.
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder institutional sales processes, including procurement, commercial negotiations, RFPs, and internal approvals.
- Manage accounts after closure, with responsibility for onboarding coordination, relationship continuity, renewals, retention, and account expansion.
- Track state government education policies, rulings, schemes, and grants relevant to EdVergenceX offerings.
- Develop relationships with state education departments and related bodies as a secondary business development channel.
- Coordinate with headquarters on regional marketing campaigns, events, sales operations, and account priorities.
- Report regional market developments, institutional trends, competitor activity, pricing signals, and opportunity intelligence to headquarters.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of B2B sales experience in Indian higher education, with direct responsibility for institutional sales.
- An existing network in the assigned region is essential; the network must be immediately accessible and not expected to be built only after joining.
- Established relationships with college and university decision-makers, including Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Registrars, Placement Officers, and IQAC Coordinators.
- Demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including institutional procurement and RFP processes.
- Proven post-sale account management experience covering renewals, retention, relationship growth, and expansion - not only current signings.
- Ability to operate independently across the assigned region while coordinating effectively with headquarters; no dedicated regional support should be assumed.
- Strong pipeline management, stakeholder mapping, commercial negotiation, sales reporting, CRM usage, and forecasting capability.
- Working familiarity with state education policy, government structures, and relevant grants is an advantage, but is not mandatory.
