About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer – Automation Quality to spearhead our test automation strategy and develop scalable, reliable, and cutting-edge quality engineering solutions. This hands-on technical leadership position involves designing automation frameworks, solving complex quality challenges, mentoring engineers, and influencing engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Development, DevOps, Product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of automation processes within our software delivery lifecycle. Additionally, this role offers opportunities to explore emerging technologies such as AI to advance our automation capabilities, making it a pivotal role in shaping the future of quality engineering at Empower.

Qualifications

- 7–10 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, including 4–5 years of hands-on automation testing experience or equivalent training.
- Proven leadership in automation initiatives with the ability to mentor and guide engineering teams.
- Robust programming skills in Java, with a solid understanding of Core Java concepts.
- Extensive experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Karate for API testing, Selenium for UI automation,



and JUnit/TestNG for testing frameworks.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests into delivery workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks for complex applications, ensuring high reliability and efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Quality/Test Automation Engineers to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
- Establish and promote automation standards, coding practices, and quality engineering best practices across teams.
- Design and develop API automation using Karate and UI automation using Selenium, leveraging frameworks like JUnit and TestNG.
- Evaluate automation tools and recommend solutions aligned with technical and business objectives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and other stakeholders to define automation goals, priorities, and roadmaps.
- Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines and enhance continuous testing practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Define, monitor, and analyze automation metrics and KPIs to measure test coverage, reliability, and overall effectiveness.
- Drive continuous process improvements,



including exploring AI and emerging technologies to optimize automation workflows.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, training materials, and deliver training sessions on automation tools and best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, setting priorities, and troubleshooting automation issues as they arise.
- Remain actively involved in automation development, troubleshooting, and manual/exploratory testing when necessary to ensure quality standards are met.
