Software Tester – Manual Testing & AI-Assisted QA

Job Summary

We are looking for a Software Tester with 3–5 years of experience in manual testing of Web and Mobile applications, with strong expertise in API testing, test case design, defect management and SQL. The candidate should have a good understanding of software testing methodologies and be comfortable leveraging AI/Generative AI capabilities to enhance manual testing activities, improve test coverage and accelerate QA processes.

The ideal candidate should be proactive, analytical and willing to adopt emerging AI-powered testing tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

- Execute functional, integration, regression, system and exploratory testing for Web and Mobile applications.
- Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into test scenarios, test conditions and detailed test cases.
- Create, review and execute test cases and test scripts covering positive, negative, boundary and exception scenarios.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or similar tools.
- Validate API responses, request/response parameters, status codes, authentication, error handling and data integrity.
- Perform database validation using Oracle and SQL Server, including writing SQL queries for data verification.
- Identify, document, track and retest defects using defect management tools.
- Participate in defect triaging, root-cause discussions and issue resolution with development and business teams.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing for Web and Mobile applications.
- Execute and analyse automation test results and collaborate with automation teams to identify failures.
- Develop/debug basic test scripts using JavaScript, VBScript or other scripting languages.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts and other stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Leverage AI/Generative AI tools to improve manual testing efficiency, including:




- Generating and enhancing test scenarios and test cases.
- Identifying potential edge cases and negative scenarios.
- Generating test data and SQL queries.
- Supporting API test-case creation.
- Analysing test results and identifying potential failure patterns.
- Assisting with defect analysis and defect documentation.
- Improving test coverage and identifying gaps in existing test suites.
- Generating and maintaining test documentation.
- Review and validate all AI-generated test cases, scripts, test data and analysis before using them for actual testing.
- Explore and recommend new AI-powered QA/testing tools and techniques that can improve testing quality, productivity and coverage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Software Testing/QA, with strong experience in manual testing.
- Relevant experience in testing both Web and Mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and testing methodologies.

- Hands-on experience in API Testing.
- Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Experience in writing and debugging basic test scripts.
- Knowledge of JavaScript/VBScript is desirable.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum workplace.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM or equivalent.
- Knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or similar will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of AI/Generative AI capabilities for software testing, including AI-assisted test-case generation, test-data generation, defect analysis, test documentation

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
