QA Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a QA Engineer to help build and maintain a strong quality assurance process across Kazams technology ecosystem. You will be responsible for designing and executing automated and manual testing for our React Native mobile applications, Svelte web applications, and Node.js/Go backend services. The role also involves testing and validating our OCPP-based EV charger integrations,

ensuring reliable communication between connected chargers, the cloud platform, and other system components. This is an opportunity for a hands-on QA professional who enjoys working closely with developers and product teams, identifying issues early, improving test coverage, and contributing to a high-quality product.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

- Design and execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts across web, mobile, API, and integration layers.
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure adequate test coverage for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Automation Testing

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API testing.
- Contribute to building and improving the organization's automation testing framework.
- Use automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
- Identify suitable test cases for automation and continuously improve automation coverage.

API & Backend Testing

- Test Node.js and Go backend services through API and integration testing.
- Validate API responses, data flows, error handling, and system integrations.
- Use tools such as Postman/Newman, RestAssured, or similar API testing frameworks.

Mobile & Web Application Testing





- Perform testing of React Native mobile applications across different devices and scenarios.
- Test Svelte or similar modern JavaScript-based web applications for

functionality, usability, and compatibility.
- Identify UI, functional, performance, and cross-platform issues.

EV / IoT & OCPP Testing

- Test Kazam's EV charging platform and charger integrations.
- Validate charger-to-cloud communication, charging sessions, transaction flows, and system responses.
- Test different OCPP-related scenarios, including connectivity issues, charger status changes, transaction failures, and edge cases.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and troubleshoot issues related to connected hardware and IoT systems.

CI/CD & Quality Processes

- Integrate and execute automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
- Help ensure that software releases meet defined quality standards before deployment.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, documentation, and testing practices.

Collaboration

- Work closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and other QA team members to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
- Participate in requirement and technical design discussions to identify potential quality risks early.
- Communicate defects, risks, and testing outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.





What We're Looking For

Experience

- 2-5 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automation testing.
- Experience in testing modern web and/or mobile applications.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Technical Skills

- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Experience with API testing using Postman, Newman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
- Experience testing web and mobile applications.
- Basic understanding of Node.js and/or Go-based backend services.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Valuable understanding of SQL/database testing and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems.

Good to Have

- Experience in EV charging, IoT, connected devices, or energy management platforms.
- Working knowledge of OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol).
- Experience testing hardware-device and cloud integrations.
- Understanding of charging transactions, charger status, and device-to-cloud communication.
- Experience with performance/load testing tools.
