Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Survey & Technical Assessment Conduct rooftop site surveys for solar PV installations.

Assess roof condition, available installation area, shading, orientation, and structure requirements.

Check electrical infrastructure, sanctioned load, meter details, DBs, cable routes, and earthing arrangements.

Take accurate site measurements and photographs.

Identify technical and safety-related issues before installation.

2. Solar System Installation

- Supervise and/or execute rooftop solar PV installation as per approved layout and design.
- Coordinate installation of:
- Solar PV modules
- Mounting structures
- Inverters
- DC/AC cables
- ACDB/DCDB
- Earthing and lightning protection
- MCB/RCCB/SPD and other protection devices
- Ensure proper cable routing, dressing, termination, and labeling.
- Ensure installation is completed as per approved drawings and company standards.

1. Testing & • Commissioning

- Perform DC and AC electrical checks before commissioning.
- Check polarity, voltage, continuity, insulation, earthing, and cable termination.
- Configure and commission solar inverters.
- Connect and verify monitoring/RMS systems.
- Troubleshoot inverter errors, generation issues, wiring problems, and communication failures.
- Ensure the plant is generating properly after commissioning.

1. Quality & • Safety

- Ensure installation quality as per company SOPs and applicable standards.
- Conduct quality inspections during and after installation.
- Verify structure alignment, module installation, cable routing, earthing, and electrical connections.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety requirements.
- Identify and report safety risks at the site.

1. Net Metering & • Documentation





- Coordinate with the project team for net-metering requirements.
- Support DISCOM inspections and resolve technical observations.
- Prepare/verify technical documents such as:
- Single Line Diagram (SLD)
- As-built drawings
- Module layout
- String details
- Cable details
- Earthing reports
- Commissioning reports
- Site inspection reports
- Maintain project-wise technical records and photographs.

1. Troubleshooting & • O&M;

- Attend customer complaints related to solar systems.
- Diagnose issues related to:
- Inverters
- Solar modules
- DC/AC wiring
- Earthing
- Generation

- Monitoring systems
- Protection devices
- Coordinate with inverter/module manufacturers and service teams when required.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and system health checks.

1. Project Coordination

- Coordinate with Project Managers, Purchase, Sales, vendors, electricians, and customers.
- Track material requirements and ensure availability at site.

- Monitor project progress and report delays or technical challenges.
- Guide installation teams and electricians on technical requirements.
- Ensure projects are completed within the planned timeline.

Required Skills

- Good understanding of rooftop solar PV systems.
- Knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems.
- Knowledge of solar inverters, modules, mounting structures, ACDB/DCDB, earthing, and protection systems.

- Ability to read and understand SLD and solar layouts.
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing instruments such as multimeter and clamp meter.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Valuable vendor and customer coordination skills.
- Ability to prepare site reports and technical documentation.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
