Job Summary On Door Concepts Limited is looking for an experienced Purchase Manager FMCG / Grocery Retail to manage end-to-end procurement for its retail business. The candidate will be responsible for supplier development, sourcing, price negotiation, purchase planning, margins, schemes, credit terms, inventory availability, stock rotation and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the FMCG and grocery market along with an established network of manufacturers, distributors, super-stockists, wholesalers and food suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end procurement of FMCG and grocery products for retail operations.
- Source products from manufacturers, authorized distributors, super-stockists and wholesalers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with FMCG companies, principals, distributors and suppliers.
- Negotiate purchase prices, margins, schemes, discounts, credit periods, freight and payment terms.
- Compare supplier rates and market prices to ensure competitive and profitable buying.
- Identify new brands,



SKUs and products based on market demand, sales potential and margins.
- Prepare purchase plans based on sales trends, stock levels, demand forecasting and inventory turnover.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of fast-moving and high-demand SKUs.
- Monitor stock ageing, expiry, near-expiry and slow-moving inventory and take corrective action.
- Negotiate special schemes, discounts and liquidation deals for slow-moving or short-dated inventory.
- Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Accounts and Management for procurement planning.
- Verify supplier invoices, purchase rates, schemes, discounts and credit notes.
- Ensure purchases are made only from reliable and approved suppliers.
- Maintain updated records of supplier rates, schemes, product lists, MOQ and credit terms.
- Track market trends, competitor pricing and FMCG price movements.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers after commercial and operational evaluation.
- Develop alternate suppliers to minimize supply dependency and procurement risk.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding price, quality, availability and delivery timelines.
- Ensure timely delivery of purchased goods to the warehouse.
- Resolve issues related to shortages, damages, expiry, incorrect billing and rate differences.
- Work closely with the Sales team to understand SKU-wise demand and market requirements.

Qualification & Experience

- Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in FMCG Purchase / Procurement.
- Experience in FMCG Retail, Grocery Retail, Trading, Distribution or Wholesale will be preferred.
- Prior experience with leading organized retail / grocery / quick-commerce companies such as Blinkit, Spencers, BigBasket, DMart, Reliance Retail, Instamart or similar organizations will be highly preferred.
- Strong existing FMCG supplier/vendor network is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in negotiating with manufacturers, distributors, super-stockists and wholesalers.
- Strong knowledge of FMCG pricing, margins, schemes, promotions and market dynamics.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets, MIS and purchase reporting.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, analytical and decision-making skills.
