Astha Ferro Alloys is a ferro alloys manufacturer in Raipur, scaling up its plant operations. We are building a disciplined, professional purchase function and want an experienced plant buyer to run it.

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Purchase Manager to own the procurement of engineering stores, spares, consumables and services for our ferro alloy plant, including imported spares. You will keep the plant running by securing the right items at the right price, quality and time, build a strong vendor base, and run a transparent, well-documented purchase process. This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities:

- Purchase Cycle: Process approved indents, float enquiries, prepare comparative statements, negotiate, and raise POs/work orders for approval; follow up and expedite deliveries.
- Critical Spares Planning: Build and maintain the critical spares list and reorder levels with maintenance and stores; plan for shutdowns; run emergency sourcing during breakdowns.
- Vendor Development: Qualify and develop OEMs, dealers and fabricators; maintain multiple sources for critical items; run rate contracts and quarterly vendor ratings.
- Import Purchases: Handle RFQs, proforma invoices, Incoterms, TT/LC payments, CHA and freight coordination, customs duty and clearance; compare landed cost with domestic options.
- Negotiation & Cost Control: Drive savings on price, warranty and payment terms; reduce slow-moving and duplicate purchases; push standardisation.




- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure correct GST/HSN and e-way bill documentation on every order; track MSME vendor payment timelines; keep a complete audit trail for every PO.
- Coordination: Work closely with stores, maintenance, production, QC and accounts for receipt, acceptance, rejections and warranty claims.
- MIS & Reporting: Report monthly on spend, savings, open POs, delays, critical-spares status and vendor performance.

Requirements:

- 5–7 years in plant purchase of engineering stores and spares, preferably in ferro alloys, steel, sponge iron, power or cement.
- B.E./Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical preferred; B.Com/MBA (Materials/SCM) with robust engineering items exposure considered.
- Hands-on experience with import purchases (Incoterms, TT/LC, CHA, customs).
- Working knowledge of GST, e-way bills, PO terms and MSME payment rules.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime or an ERP purchase module, and strong MS Excel.
- Strong negotiation skills, urgency during breakdowns, and documentation discipline.
- A vendor network in the Raipur/Urla/Siltara industrial belt is an advantage.
- High integrity and transparency in all vendor dealings.

Experience: 6–10 years in a similar profile.
