Purchase Executive – Fresher (Mechanical)

Location: Chikhali, Pune, Maharashtra

Experience: Fresher / 0–1 Year

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering

looking for a motivated Purchase Executive with a Mechanical Engineering background to support its purchase and procurement activities. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in sourcing mechanical materials, components, consumables, and outsourced processes while coordinating with vendors and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

- Source mechanical raw materials, components, tools and consumables from suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations from different vendors.
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain purchase documentation.
- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Design and Accounts departments.
- Understand basic engineering drawings, dimensions and material specifications.
- Assist in sourcing machining, fabrication, laser-cutting, welding and other job-work requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding price, quality and delivery.
- Maintain vendor database and develop recent suppliers.




- Prepare quotation comparison and purchase reports using MS Excel.
- Track pending purchase orders and ensure timely closure.
- Assist senior purchase team members in price negotiation and cost reduction.
- Coordinate with Stores and Quality for material receipt and inspection issues.
- Maintain proper records of POs, quotations, invoices and vendor communications.

Required Skills

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding and sheet metal.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and mechanical components.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Good communication and vendor coordination skills.
- Negotiation and follow-up skills.
- Willingness to learn procurement and vendor management.
- Knowledge of ERP/SAP will be an added advantage.
