- Design & 3D Modeling: Create and refine component blueprints and 3D models using tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.

- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Re-engineer or tweak product designs so they fit existing factory machinery and assembly lines.

- Jigs and Fixtures: Design custom tools, holders, and assembly guides to speed up production and cut down errors.

- Bills of Materials (BOM): Build and maintain accurate lists of parts, materials, and costs for production.

- Cost & Process Improvement: Work with shop floor teams to remove bottlenecks, reduce waste, and lower unit costs.

- Quality & Compliance: Test prototypes, troubleshoot line failures, and make sure products meet industry safety and quality standards

- Common Skills Needed

- Software: CAD programs (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, NX) and spreadsheet tools like MS Excel.

- Engineering Knowledge: Mechanics, materials science, electrical circuits, or casting/machining methods depending on the industry.

- Problem-Solving: Root-cause analysis for broken parts or halted assembly lines.
