About the Role

We are looking for a creative and commercially minded Product Designer to develop innovative, functional, and market-ready products for the home décor, kitchen accessories, handicrafts, and lifestyle categories.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in product design and development, material selection, technical drawing, 3D modelling, sample development, and manufacturing processes. The candidate must be able to convert ideas, market trends, and buyer requirements into original products that are aesthetically appealing, functional, cost-effective, and easy to manufacture.

Our product range includes wooden products made from mango wood and acacia wood, along with metal, iron, aluminium, glass, ceramic, and mixed-material products.

The role will involve developing products for both the Indian market and international buyers, particularly in the US and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Innovation

- Develop recent product concepts for home décor, kitchen accessories, tabletop, serving products, storage and utility items, and handicrafts.
- Create original, contemporary, minimal, and commercially viable product designs.
- Develop product collections based on customer needs, market trends, and buyer specifications.
- Improve existing products through better functionality, proportions, materials, and finishing.
- Convert design concepts into practical products suitable for mass production.

2. Material & Manufacturing Knowledge

- Work with mango wood, acacia wood, metal, iron, aluminium, stainless steel, glass, ceramics, and mixed materials.
- Understand material properties, production limitations, durability, finishing, and assembly methods.
- Select suitable materials and finishes according to design requirements, target pricing, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Develop designs that minimise material wastage and unnecessary manufacturing complexity.

3. Technical Drawings & 3D Modelling

- Prepare product sketches,



dimensioned technical drawings, 2D drawings, and 3D models.
- Develop product specifications, measurements, material details, and finishing references.
- Prepare production drawings and bills of materials (BOM), where required.
- Use design software to communicate concepts clearly to sample developers, vendors, and production teams.

4. Market Research & Trend Analysis

- Research Indian and international home décor and kitchen accessory trends.
- Analyse competing products, materials, shapes, finishes, pricing, and market positioning.
- Identify product gaps and opportunities for new collections.
- Develop designs suited to the preferences of Indian consumers and US/European buyers.

5. Sample Development & Production Coordination

- Coordinate with merchandisers, vendors, sample developers, and factory teams.
- Monitor prototypes and samples from initial concept to final approval.
- Review samples against approved drawings, dimensions, functionality, and finishing requirements.
- Identify and resolve design-related production issues.
- Incorporate feedback from buyers, quality teams, and production departments.

6. Costing & Product Improvement

- Consider target cost, production time, material consumption, and scalability during design development.
- Support product costing and value engineering.
- Simplify designs where possible without compromising quality or appearance.
- Ensure products are practical to manufacture, pack, transport, and use.

Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, Product Development,



Furniture Design, or a relevant discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in physical product design and development.
- Experience in home décor, kitchen accessories, handicrafts, tabletop, furniture, or lifestyle products.
- Practical knowledge of wood, metal, glass, ceramics, or mixed-material product development.
- Proficiency in at least one relevant CAD or 3D modelling software.
- Ability to prepare technical drawings and product specifications.
- Strong design portfolio showcasing concepts, prototypes, and manufactured products.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with export-oriented manufacturers, buying houses, or international buyers.
- Understanding of Indian manufacturing processes and US/European market preferences.
- Experience with mango wood, acacia wood, metal fabrication, glass, ceramic, and surface finishing.
- Knowledge of product costing, BOM preparation, vendor coordination, and sample approvals.
- Familiarity with product photography, realistic rendering, and design presentation tools.
