Procurement Tool Functional Lead SAP Ariba Capability

Role Purpose: Lead the functional design and support of procurement processes spanning Procurement Tool and SAP Ariba, ensuring business requirements align with the current Ariba configuration and downstream SAP procurement processes.

Experience: 8-12 years overall, including 5+ years in SAP Ariba procurement solutions and at least one end-to-end implementation or major rollout.

Key Responsibilities

- Own functional requirements for intake, workflows, approvals, buying channels, catalog/non-catalog purchasing and user support.
- Assess Procurement Tool requirements against existing SAP Ariba configuration, master data, and process constraints; recommend fit-to-standard solutions.
- Lead functional design for requisition-to-order processes and integration touchpoints with SAP S/4HANA or ECC.
- Configure or guide configuration for approval flows, purchasing policies, forms, buying channels, users/roles,and related procurement settings.
- Analyze functional incidents, identify root cause, and coordinate resolution across Procurement Tool, Ariba, SAP and integration teams.
- Support SIT/UAT, defect triage, business validation, release readiness, and production stabilization.




- Work with business stakeholders to translate local requirements into scalable global procurement processes.
- Provide functional governance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to support teams.

Required SAP / Technical Skills

- Strong SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing / Guided Buying experience.
- Strong understanding of SAP MM/P2P: PR, PO, goods receipt, invoice, and supplier processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of Ariba workflows, approvals, catalogs, buying channels, forms, and user administration.
- Good understanding of AribaSAP S/4HANA/ECC integration and common integration failure scenarios.
- Ability to interpret configuration, master data, and transaction behavior to resolve user and process issues.
- Strong stakeholder management, requirements analysis and functional documentation skills.

Preferred / Valuable to Have

- SAP Ariba certification.
- Experience with multi-country procurement rollouts and localization.
- Exposure to SAP BTP Integration Suite/CPI and API-based procurement integrations.
