Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of raw materials, packaging materials, and third-party services in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The role demands a deep understanding of Positive Manufacturing Practices (GMP), vendor qualification, and supply chain risk management, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of critical materials for formulation and production.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing: Identify and qualify suppliers of APIs, excipients, nutraceutical ingredients, and packaging materials globally while ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., USFDA, FSSAI, WHO-GMP).
- Supplier Management: Establish, evaluate, and maintain strong supplier relationships, including periodic audits and performance assessments.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and agreements for cost, quality, lead time, and supply continuity.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to regulatory and quality guidelines for all procured materials. Maintain documentation for audits and inspections (COAs, MSDS, DMFs, etc.).
- Forecasting & Inventory: Work with R&D;, production, and planning teams to forecast material requirements and optimize inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Cost Optimization:



Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining material quality and integrity.
- Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies (alternate suppliers, dual sourcing).
- ERP & Reporting: Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to manage purchase orders, supplier records, and procurement analytics. Generate reports on procurement KPIs.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Supply Chain; MBA or PGDM in Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 5–10 years of procurement experience in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or related industries.
- In-depth understanding of cGMP, regulatory requirements, and sourcing challenges in pharma/nutra.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of global sourcing, import/export regulations, and supplier qualification processes.
- Experience in raw material planning and BOM coordination with R&D; and formulation teams.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, APICS, CPSM) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹240,000.00 per year
