Role & responsibilities

- Develop, modify, test and troubleshoot PLC programs using Allen-Bradley, Siemens or equivalent platforms.

- Design and maintain HMI screens, alarms and fault diagnostics.

- Develop and optimize industrial robot programs using FANUC, ABB or equivalent robots.

- Perform robot teaching, path programming, calibration and tool/fixture configuration.

- Integrate PLC, HMI, robots, sensors and safety systems.

- Support machine and production-line commissioning, startup and troubleshooting.

- Identify root causes of PLC, robot, communication and automation issues and implement corrective actions.

- Optimize robot and machine programs to improve cycle time, production efficiency and reliability.

- Configure and troubleshoot IIoT edge devices/gateways for shop-floor data collection.

- Support MQTT / OPC UA communication between PLCs, robots, edge devices and IIoT platforms.

- Use Python scripting for data handling, automation utilities and system integration.

- Maintain PLC, HMI, robot and Python program backups, version control and technical documentation.

- Follow and maintain applicable Ford RAPID and GVOSS standards and automation programming standards.

Preferred candidate profile





- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation or related engineering field.

- 79+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC/HMI and robot programming.

- Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming, preferably Allen-Bradley or Siemens.

- Experience in FANUC and/or ABB industrial robot programming, teaching and troubleshooting.

- Strong experience in commissioning, debugging and troubleshooting manufacturing automation systems.

- Experience with PLC-Robot integration, safety systems, sensors and production-line automation.

- Automotive or manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.

- Candidates with experience in Ford FAST and GVOSS standards will be preferred.

- Working knowledge of IIoT, edge devices, MQTT, OPC UA, Ignition or Kepware is an advantage.

- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python scripting for automation, data handling and integration.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Willingness to work closely with manufacturing/shop-floor teams during commissioning and production support.
