Job Title: Patient Counselor – Surgery & General Care

Location: Punalur, Kollam(Dist)

Qualification: degree/GNM/BSc Nursing

Role Overview

The Patient Counselor will provide guidance and support to patients undergoing surgery and other medical treatments. They will ensure patients and their families understand the treatment process, risks, post-operative care, and hospital procedures while offering emotional and practical support.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Surgery Counseling:

Educate patients and families about the surgical procedure, risks, advantages, and expected outcomes.Obtain informed consent by explaining medical terms in a patient-friendly manner.Assist in preparing patients mentally and physically for surgery.

Post-Surgery & Recovery Support:

Provide guidance on post-operative care, medication adherence,



and lifestyle modifications.Ensure patients understand discharge instructions and follow-up requirements.Address patient concerns and offer emotional support during recovery.

General Patient Counseling

Counsel patients on treatment plans for various medical conditions.Assist in coordinating medical procedures, appointments, and hospital admissions.Act as a liaison between doctors, nurses, and patients to ensure smooth communication.

Skills & Requirements:

B.Sc. Nursing or GNM qualification with experience in patient counseling, surgery assistance, or hospital care.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive medical information with empathy and confidentiality.

Proficiency in local language(s) and English.

Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
