Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, responsible, and communicative Blood Bank Counsellor with an MSW qualification to provide counselling and support to blood donors, patients, and their families. The candidate will be responsible for donor counselling, maintaining confidentiality, promoting voluntary blood donation, and assisting in the smooth functioning of the Blood Centre in accordance with hospital policies and applicable guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-donation and post-donation counselling to blood donors.
- Explain the blood donation process, eligibility criteria, perks, and precautions to donors.
- Conduct donor awareness and motivation activities to promote voluntary blood donation.
- Counsel donors regarding medical history, risk factors, and the importance of providing accurate information.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor information, medical history, and test results.
- Provide appropriate guidance and emotional support to patients and their families regarding blood availability and transfusion-related concerns.
- Coordinate with the Blood Centre team for donor registration, documentation, and follow-up.
- Maintain donor records, counselling registers, consent forms, and other required documentation.
- Assist in organizing voluntary blood donation camps and awareness programmes.
