Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Patent Associate with 2–5 years of experience in patent drafting, patent searches, and intellectual property research. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Biotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Computer Science, along with the ability to understand complex inventions and prepare high-quality patent documents.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft, review, and prepare patent specifications, including provisional and complete specifications.
- Conduct patentability, novelty, prior-art, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches.
- Analyse technical inventions, research papers, and existing patent documents.
- Prepare patent claims, abstracts, descriptions, and drawings in coordination with inventors.
- Assist in patent filing, prosecution, examination reports, and responses to objections.
- Conduct patent landscape analysis and competitor patent research.
- Coordinate with clients, inventors, R&D; teams, and internal legal professionals.
- Maintain patent documentation, filing records, deadlines, and client communications.
- Monitor relevant developments in patent laws, rules, and intellectual property practices.

Educational Qualifications Candidates must hold one of the following qualifications:

- B.Tech / B.E. in Biotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), or Computer Science Engineering (CSE).
- M.Tech in Biotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering.

Preferred:



Candidates with a postgraduate qualification and relevant experience in patent drafting and intellectual property research.

Required Skills and Experience

- 2–5 years of relevant experience in patent drafting, patent searching, or patent analytics.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and research skills.
- Knowledge of patent databases such as Google Patents, WIPO PATENTSCOPE, Espacenet, and the Indian Patent Advanced Search System (InPASS).
- Ability to interpret technical documents and convert inventions into clear patent specifications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Competencies

- Experience in Indian and international patent applications.
- Familiarity with Indian Patent Office procedures and PCT applications.
- Experience responding to examination reports and supporting patent prosecution.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.

Pay: ₹360,000.00 - ₹1,030,000.00 per year
