1. Job Summary

Orkid Bakes and Foods Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a responsible and technically competent Packing Machine Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain packaging machines used for packing bakery and confectionery products. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient machine operation, consistent packaging quality, accurate weight and sealing, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Machine Operation

- Operate and monitor packing machines used for bakery and confectionery products, including cakes, brownies, and other packaged food items.
- Set up machines according to product specifications, packaging material, and production requirements.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, temperature, sealing pressure, and film alignment as required.
- Ensure smooth machine operation and minimize downtime, wastage, and production interruptions.
- Identify machine malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.

B. Packaging Quality Control

- Ensure proper sealing, packaging appearance, and product presentation.
- Check packaging for leakage, improper sealing, damaged wrappers, and printing defects.
- Verify product weight, batch coding, manufacturing date, expiry date, and MRP printing as applicable.
- Ensure the correct packaging material is used for each product and batch.
- Immediately report quality issues or packaging deviations to the supervisor.

C. Production and Efficiency

- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
- Ensure continuous availability of packaging materials during production.
- Monitor packaging material consumption and minimize film wastage and rejected packs.
- Maintain accurate production, rejection,



and machine downtime records.
- Coordinate with production and packing teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.

D. Hygiene and Food Safety

- Follow all company hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the machine, surrounding work area, and packaging equipment.
- Prevent product contamination and ensure secure handling of food products.
- Follow applicable food safety procedures, including GMP and company quality standards.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of packaging materials.

E. Safety and Maintenance

- Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Check machine components before starting production and report abnormalities.
- Follow machine safety procedures and never bypass safety guards.
- Ensure proper shutdown and cleaning of machines after production.
- Report breakdowns, unusual noises, overheating, or other operational issues promptly.

1. Educational Qualification

- Minimum: SSLC / Plus Two or equivalent.
- ITI, diploma, or technical training in mechanical, electrical, or related fields will be an advantage.

1. Experience

- Preferred: 1–3 years of experience operating packing machines in the bakery, food processing, FMCG, or confectionery industry.
- Candidates with experience in flow-wrap machines, pillow-pack machines, automatic packing machines, or similar equipment will be preferred.
- Freshers with technical aptitude and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The employee's performance will be evaluated based on:
- Achievement of daily production targets.
- Machine uptime and operational efficiency.
- Reduction in packaging material wastage.
- Packaging defects and rejection rates.
- Accuracy of batch coding and product labelling.
- Compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards.
- Proper maintenance of production records and timely reporting of breakdowns.

1. Working Conditions

- Work at the company's manufacturing and packaging facility in Koratty, Kerala.
- Shift-based work depending on production requirements.
- Standing for extended periods and handling packaging materials as required.
- Compliance with company policies, factory rules, and food safety requirements.

Salary will be based on the candidate's experience, technical skills, and suitability for the role.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
