Job Title

Network Engineer, following HARC reliability engineering principles

Location : Hyderabad / Bangalore / Pune - Hybrid

Tenure : 6 - 12 months - extendable

Experience : 8+ Years

CTC : up to 20 LPA

Role Overview

MPS is looking for Network Engineers to extend its Infrastructure team, covering BAU network operations across a multi-vendor estate while supporting major initiatives including the SD-WAN implementation and LAN and Wi-Fi refresh programmes. One resource is needed initially, with a second likely to be confirmed soon as demand increases.

The role is hands-on and self-sufficient, working in highly technical areas where the next line of support is the vendor, with strong focus on change governance, clear communication and automation of repetitive work.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations (BAU)

- Administer, configure and support the MPS network across Cisco and HP Aruba switching and wireless.
- Manage SonicWall devices and Fortigate firewalls, including rules, policies, firmware and health.
- Support VPN connectivity (site-to-site and remote access) and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Support networking for the VMware virtualised environment.
- Complete start-of-day checks on network health, monitoring and alerts.

Projects & Initiatives
- Support the SD-WAN implementation, including site migrations, testing and handover into BAU.
- Support the LAN and Wi-Fi refresh programmes: design input, configuration, cutover and validation.
- Take part in bi-weekly sprint meetings and deliver assigned ADO work items.

Service Management & Governance
- Handle incidents and service requests raised through ITSM and tracked in ADO; own incidents through to resolution and RCA.
- Raise, document and implement network changes through CAB.

- Communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders during incidents and changes.
- Escalate to and work with vendors when issues go beyond internal support.

Automation, Security & Documentation
- Automate repetitive configuration, backup and compliance checks where possible.
- Apply network security standards and least-privilege access.
- Maintain network diagrams, configurations and runbooks in Confluence.

Required Skills & Experience

- Hands-on network engineering experience across Cisco and HP Aruba (switching, routing, wireless).
- Firewall experience with Fortigate and SonicWall.
- VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting networking in VMware environments.
- Experience with ITSM processes (incident, request, change including CAB) and ADO boards.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

- SD-WAN implementation and migration experience.
- LAN and Wi-Fi refresh/deployment experience, including wireless surveys.
- Network automation/scripting (e.g. Python, Ansible).
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba ACMA/ACMP, Fortinet NSE.

Key Competencies

- Self-sufficient and technically strong across a multi-vendor estate.
- Disciplined in change and incident governance.
- Proactive in identifying network improvements.
- Collaborative team player within the MPS Infrastructure team.
- Explicit communicator, particularly during cutovers and incidents.

Success Measures

- Consistent coverage of UK hours to the agreed schedule.
- Network incidents resolved within agreed targets; fewer repeat incidents.
- Changes delivered through CAB with no process breaches.
- SD-WAN and LAN/Wi-Fi milestones supported to plan.
- Up-to-date network documentation in Confluence.
