MRP & MPS Planning Executive / Planner

Job Purpose

Responsible for day-to-day MRP and MPS planning activities to ensure the right materials are available at the right time and production schedules are aligned with customer demand, inventory, capacity, and production priorities. This is a planning-focused role; ERP implementation and software development are not part of the role.

Key Responsibilities MRP Planning

- Run and review MRP requirements based on demand, inventory, open purchase orders, production orders, and lead times.
- Analyze material requirements and identify shortages, excess requirements, and potential supply risks.
- Review planning recommendations and coordinate with Purchase and Production teams for timely action.
- Monitor planning parameters, safety stock, lead times, lot sizes, and reorder requirements.
- Track open purchase orders and production orders against required dates.
- Identify delayed materials and follow up with relevant teams to avoid production interruptions.
- Analyze excess and slow-moving inventory and support inventory optimization.
- Monitor critical and long-lead-time materials.
- Prepare daily and weekly MRP status reports.

Key Responsibilities – MPS Planning

- Prepare and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on customer requirements, forecasts, inventory, and production capacity.
- Plan production quantities and required completion dates for finished goods and critical components.
- Coordinate with Production teams to ensure the MPS is practical and achievable.
- Analyze machine, manpower, and capacity constraints affecting production schedules.
- Identify bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions with Production and Planning teams.
- Monitor planned versus actual production and highlight deviations.




- Revise production schedules based on customer priorities, material availability, capacity constraints, and urgent requirements.
- Maintain short-term, medium-term, and long-term production planning.

ERP / Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

- Experience working with an ERP-based planning system is required/preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central MRP/MPS or Manufacturing is preferable.
- Ability to use ERP planning data for demand, supply, inventory, purchase, and production analysis.
- Understanding of Business Central Planning Worksheet, Production Orders, Item Planning, BOM, Routing, and Supply/Demand information is an advantage.
- Candidate should be able to interpret ERP planning recommendations and coordinate required actions with business teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Sales, Quality, and Dispatch teams.
- Follow up on material availability and production progress against the planned schedule.
- Participate in daily/weekly planning meetings.
- Communicate material shortages, production risks, and schedule changes.
- Support resolution of planning-related issues and ensure timely closure.

- MRP shortage and exception reports
- MPS versus actual production report
- Material availability report
- Open Purchase Order and overdue PO analysis




- Production plan versus actual report
- Capacity and bottleneck analysis
- Inventory shortage/excess analysis
- Critical material tracking report

Required Skills

- Solid understanding of MRP and MPS planning concepts.
- Good knowledge of production planning, material planning, and PPC processes.
- Understanding of BOM, Routing, Lead Time, Capacity, Safety Stock, and Inventory concepts.
- Ability to analyze demand, supply, inventory, and production constraints.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to prepare planning reports.
- Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is preferable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, follow-up, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under changing priorities and production deadlines.

Experience 3–5 years of relevant experience in MRP, MPS, Production Planning, Material Planning, PPC, or Supply Chain Planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is preferable.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline.

Role Scope This position is purely focused on MRP and MPS planning. The candidate will not be responsible for ERP implementation, Business Central configuration, software development, technical support, or ERP consulting.
