About the Internship

Crossing Infotech is seeking a Medical Coding Intern interested in healthcare documentation, medical terminology, and the fundamentals of coding. The internship provides an chance to learn how clinical information is organized and translated into standardized coding formats under appropriate guidance.

Key Learning Areas

- Review sample healthcare documentation for relevant information.
- Learn the fundamentals of ICD-10-CM coding concepts.
- Understand common medical terminology, abbreviations, and body systems.
- Identify diagnoses, procedures, and other relevant documentation elements.
- Practice assigning appropriate codes using provided training cases and coding guidelines.
- Check documentation for completeness and consistency.
- Maintain accurate coding-related records.
- Assist with basic quality checks on assigned coding exercises.
- Research coding guidelines when clarification is required.
- Maintain confidentiality when working with healthcare-related information.
