Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our R&D; team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers in designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical housings and enclosures for real-world products—including ANR (Active Noise Reduction) headgear, telematics dongles, smart toys (InnoToys), educational kits, and various IoT hardware.

Key Responsibilities

- CAD Modeling & Design: Assist in creating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and basic 2D manufacturing drawings using tools like SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Creo.
- Prototyping: Build, assemble, and test physical prototypes using 3D printing (FDM/SLA) and rapid prototyping techniques.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with electronics and firmware teams to ensure mechanical fitment for PCBs, connectors, and internal components.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct fitment, drop, tolerance, and durability tests on physical models.
- Material & Manufacturing Support: Learn and assist in evaluating materials (plastics, metals)



and manufacturing methods like injection molding, 3D printing, and sheet metal work.
- Documentation: Maintain clean design documentation, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and test reports.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design, or a related field.
- CAD Skills: Hands-on experience or academic proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Creo).
- Prototyping Knowledge: Basic experience or strong interest in hands-on prototyping, 3D printing, and mechanical fabrication.
- Fundamentals: Positive grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals, material properties, and simple tolerance considerations.
- Mindset: Strong problem-solving aptitude, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred (Good to Have)
- Basic familiarity with plastic part design or sheet metal fabrication.
- Prior experience with wearable devices, headgear, or rugged hardware enclosures.
- Exposure to basic FEA simulations or thermal management principles.
