Role Overview

Advance Sensing is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to work on mechanical design, machine design, fixture development, automation machine structures, inspection station layouts, conveyor mechanisms, pneumatic assemblies and industrial machine vision automation systems.

This role is suitable for freshers and early-career mechanical engineers who want to build practical experience in industrial automation, machine building, inspection machine design, fixture design, production-line mechanisms and smart factory automation equipment. As part of one of the growing machine vision and sensing technology companies in Bengaluru, you will work closely with machine vision, automation, electrical and software teams to build real industrial inspection systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Support mechanical design and development of automated inspection machines, machine vision stations and industrial automation systems.
- Prepare 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and detailed mechanical documentation.
- Assist in design of fixtures, product holding mechanisms, camera mounting structures, lighting brackets and inspection station layouts.
- Work on conveyor systems, part feeding mechanisms, indexing units, pneumatic actuators, machine frames and safety enclosures.
- Support design integration of industrial cameras, lenses, lighting systems, sensors, PLC panels and automation components.
- Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, machining, sheet metal parts, bought-out components and assembly requirements.
- Assist in machine assembly, alignment, fitment checks, mechanical trials, debugging and validation.
- Support design improvements based on inspection accuracy, ergonomics, maintainability, safety and production requirements.
- Work with automation engineers for pneumatic routing, sensor placement, actuator mounting and machine movement sequences.
- Prepare BOMs, design notes, assembly instructions, installation references and project documentation.

Required Skills

- Basic understanding of mechanical design, machine design and engineering drawing principles.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Creo or similar design tools.
- Ability to create 2D drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material details and manufacturing references.
- Basic understanding of mechanisms, fasteners, bearings, linear guides, shafts, brackets, plates and machine structures.
- Interest in industrial automation, machine vision inspection systems, conveyors, fixtures and special purpose machines.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic cylinders, solenoid valves,



FRL units and mechanical actuation systems.
- Positive analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and willingness to work on real machines and shop-floor applications.
- Ability to coordinate with electrical, automation, software and production teams during machine development.

Preferred Knowledge

- Fixture design for industrial inspection, component holding and repeatable part positioning.
- Mechanical design for machine vision systems including camera mounts, lighting mounts and optical accessibility.
- Conveyor design, part transfer systems, sorting mechanisms and reject handling systems.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal design, machining processes, fabrication and manufacturing methods.
- Understanding of machine safety, guarding, ergonomic access and maintenance-friendly machine design.
- Exposure to industrial automation machines, special purpose machines, inspection machines or assembly automation.
- Interest in Industry 4.0 systems, smart factory machines and automated quality inspection equipment.
