1. Job Purpose

To lead Project Sourcing and Strategic Procurement activities for new products, new projects and business requirements. The role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, supplier identification, cost competitiveness, localization, supplier development and timely sourcing of materials and components from project concept through production readiness. The position will work closely with Engineering, Project, Costing, Quality, Production, PPC and Procurement teams to ensure projects achieve the required Cost, Quality, Delivery and Launch timelines.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Project Sourcing

· Lead sourcing activities for new projects, new products and engineering changes. · Develop project-specific sourcing strategies based on cost, quality, capacity and delivery requirements.

· Identify and evaluate suppliers for new components, fabricated parts, bought-outs and subcontracting.

· Coordinate with Engineering and Costing teams for drawings, specifications, BOM and technical requirements.

· Ensure supplier nomination and sourcing decisions are completed as per project timelines.

B. Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management

· Develop strategic sourcing plans for critical commodities and components.

· Conduct Should Cost / Cost Analysis / Cost Benchmarking for project components.

· Drive cost reduction through competitive sourcing, value engineering, localization and alternate materials/processes.

· Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve project cost targets.

· Track project sourcing savings and cost avoidance.

C. Supplier Development

· Identify,



assess and develop suppliers capable of meeting project requirements.

· Lead supplier qualification in coordination with Quality and Engineering.

· Evaluate supplier capacity, capability, technology, quality systems and financial/commercial suitability.

· Develop alternate and backup sources for critical components.

· Support supplier ramp-up during new product launch.

D. New Product / Project Launch Support

· Ensure timely availability of prototype, sample and pre-production components.

· Monitor supplier readiness against project milestones.

· Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production and PPC for sample approval and production readiness.

· Resolve sourcing-related issues affecting project timelines.

· Ensure smooth transition from prototype to regular production.

E. Localization & Alternate Sourcing

· Identify opportunities for localization of imported or high-cost components.

· Develop local suppliers to improve cost competitiveness and supply reliability.

· Establish alternate sources for single-source and critical components.

· Evaluate Make vs. Buy opportunities in coordination with Engineering and Operations.

F. Supplier Performance & Risk Management

· Monitor supplier performance against Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) requirements.





· Identify supply-chain risks during project development.

· Develop mitigation plans for capacity, quality, delivery and commercial risks.

· Conduct periodic supplier reviews for critical project suppliers.

G. Cross-Functional Project Coordination

· Act as the key sourcing interface between Procurement and Project/Engineering teams.

· Participate in project review meetings and provide sourcing status updates.

· Track sourcing milestones, supplier nomination, sample development and approval status.

· Escalate critical sourcing risks to management with appropriate action plans.

H. Team Leadership & MIS

· Lead and guide the project sourcing team.

· Establish project sourcing KPIs and monitor performance.

· Prepare project sourcing MIS covering cost, supplier status, development, risks and timelines.

· Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes and supplier development.

· 10–15 years of relevant experience in Project Sourcing, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Supplier Development.

· Strong experience in Heavy Fabrication, Trailer Manufacturing, Structural Steel, Automobile or Engineering Manufacturing.

· Experience in Recent Product Development (NPD), New Project Launch and Supplier Development is preferred.

· Strong experience in cost analysis, should costing, commercial negotiation and localization.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
