Designation: Lead Process/Production

Purpose of the Job: Lead Process/Production is responsible to lead, direct, and control the routine activities as well as critical initiatives required to achieve the short and medium-term operating objectives set by management at Section Levels. The incumbent is also responsible for managing overall manufacturing operations at Plant level.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations:

- Ensure Daily production planning in line with targets and execution plans.
- Carry out review and analysis of daily process log sheet and other key production parameters and accordingly make action plans for respective section.
- Monitor process parameters as reported by shift in-charges, conduct why-why analysis on deviations, prepare corrective actions and ensure execution of plans.
- Prepare and supervise action plans for equipment maintenance along with maintenance teams.
- Ensure availability of equipment as per plan by coordinating with other departments to ensure healthiness of equipment is managed while maintaining production targets.
- Carry out planning and updating of refractory management as per plans and approaches decided by Chief Process/Production.
- Undertake shutdown planning for respective section.
- React to and Identify solutions to upcoming problems in the plant such as downtime, issues with productivity, cost, quality etc. to ensure achievement of set targets.
- Undertake root cause analysis of repeating breakdowns and take corrective action such as adjustment of refractory when required, why-why analysis of breakdowns etc.
- Interact predominantly with internal stakeholders such as maintenance teams, QC, stores, civil, RMH & Safety to ensure smooth operations in respective section;
- Carry out periodic interactions with vendors as per requirements.




- Analyse issues in the plant and recommend solutions to HOD for improvement; provide recommendations on technical terms.
- Identify improvement and modification areas in the plant and processes and explain the Chief/Head need for implementation.

Operations Excellence:

- Identify process/system improvement initiatives to optimize overall operational costs & processes.
- Carry out overall cost, inventory & manpower optimization.
- Optimization of plant performance with respect to output rate and production.
- Adherence to norms regarding power utilisation, quality, production & emission norms.
- Smooth execution of internal & external projects, material & manpower management, plant supervision & resolution of safety related issues & conflicts.
- Maximization of uptime of major plant equipment (i.e. kiln, mill etc).
- Develops and drive process excellence initiatives such as six sigma interventions, total productivity maintenance etc. to enable superior cost efficiencies and quality levels across the organization.

- Ensure nil lost time accidents through robust implementation of safety guidelines.
- Plan & provided the technical training to employees in coordination with HR team.
- Drive a culture promoting focus on workplace, health and safety across the organization.
- Strengthen employee engagement levels in operations team building a positive working climate for all team members.

Education: B. Tech Chemical from Tier 1 / Tier 2 College with 12-15 years of experience

Experience:

- Typical role requires 12-15 years of relevant experience in running plant operations/process for a manufacturing organization, preferably cement.
- Role requires understanding of leading operation and maintenance practices followed in comparable organizations and technological developments in cement making; exposure to managing teams to lead plant sections is also required.
