Locations: Hyderabad | Bangalore | Chennai | Pune

Experience: 6–10+ Years overall | 5+ Years relevant Mainframe Assembler experience mandatory

Work Mode: Hybrid – 2–3 Days WFO

Work Timings: 11:00 AM–8:00 PM / 12:00 PM–9:00 PM

Interview Rounds: 2 Client Internal Rounds

Interview Mode: Virtual

Key Skills:

IBM z/OS Assembler (HLASM) – 5+ Years mandatory

Robust Enterprise COBOL experience on z/OS

Assembler → COBOL rewrite / modernization experience

Strong JCL knowledge

Batch & CICS environments

VSAM / IAM / DB2 / Datacom

Mainframe debugging tools – IPCS, Abend-AID

Assembler macros, copybooks, registers & storage management

Functional equivalence testing & defect fixing

Performance analysis and optimization

What You’ll Do:

Analyze complex HLASM programs, macros, control blocks and call chains

Understand and document business logic embedded in legacy assembler code





Rewrite assembler programs into maintainable, functionally equivalent COBOL

Translate low-level assembler constructs, register operations and data handling into COBOL

Design and execute unit/integration testing for modernization programs

Debug functional mismatches and resolve defects

Optimize CPU, I/O, storage and performance-critical code paths

Create clear technical and functional documentation

Collaborate with architects, testers, modernization and QA teams

Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who can go beyond syntactic code conversion and truly understand assembler behavior, business rules and functional equivalence.

Experience in Mainframe modernization / migration programs and automated rewrite or code-mining tools will be an added advantage.
