Key Responsibilities

Linux / Unix Administration

- Administer and support enterprise Linux/Unix servers, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.

- Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance.

- Perform security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access management.

- Troubleshoot complex OS, system, and application-related issues.

- Provide L2 production support and participate in P1/P2 major incident management and RCA.

Puppet Automation

- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Puppet modules, manifests, and configurations.

- Automate server provisioning, patching, configuration management, and application deployment.

- Implement configuration standardization and resolve configuration drift.

- Identify opportunities to reduce manual operational activities through automation.

VMware Administration

- Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.

- Provision and manage Linux/Unix virtual machines and templates.

- Support VM performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization.

- Assist with Disaster Recovery activities and VMware-based infrastructure operations.

Scripting &

- Automation

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and/or Python.

- Automate routine administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery activities.

Production Support &

- ITSM

- Handle production incidents, service requests, and operational issues within defined SLAs.

- Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.





- Execute infrastructure changes through ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

- Participate in CAB activities, change implementation, validation, and rollback planning.

- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, technical documentation, and operational procedures.

Networking, Storage &

- DR

- Troubleshoot basic to advanced TCP/IP, DNS, and network connectivity issues.

- Work with enterprise storage systems and understand storage dependencies.

- Support backup and disaster recovery activities.

- Participate in DR drills, failover testing, and recovery validation.

Security &

- Compliance

- Follow enterprise security, audit, and compliance requirements.

- Support vulnerability remediation, OS patching, access controls, and security hardening.

- Maintain accurate and audit-ready infrastructure documentation.

Mandatory Skills

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux Administration

- Strong hands-on expertise in Puppet / Configuration Management

- Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter

- Experience in production support and incident management

- Good scripting experience in Bash and/or Python

- Valuable understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, networking, and storage

- Experience with ITSM processes - Incident, Problem &
- Change Management

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred Certifications

- RHCSA / RHCE

- VMware VCP

- Puppet Certified Professional

- ITIL Certification
