· Design and implement proactive behaviour management strategies, sensory routines, and de-escalation plans tailored to early childhood and primary developmental stages.
· Adapt learning environments and play-based or academic activities to ensure active participation for children, promoting independence and emotional regulation.
· Monitor early developmental milestones and provide timely, targeted remedial interventions.
2. Leadership & Support for 1:1 Shadow Teachers
· Provide daily guidance, mentoring, and line-management support to 1:1 shadow teachers and learning support assistants.
· Collaborate with 1:1 shadow teachers to establish clear daily goals, consistent behaviour strategies, and effective scaffolding techniques for their assigned students.
· Conduct regular check-ins with shadow teachers to review student progress, adapt strategies, and foster qualified growth within the support team.
3. Collaboration & Curriculum Access
· Partner with early years practitioners, primary class teachers, and subject specialists to adapt curricula, learning materials, and assessment methods.
· Model inclusive classroom strategies and positive behaviour management techniques for teaching staff.
· Contribute to school-wide staff development regarding early inclusion practices and neurodiversity awareness.
4. Assessment, Tracking & Compliance
· Conduct observational assessments, diagnostic tracking, and developmental evaluations to measure progress against Pupil Passports & Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural targets.
· Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive student records in compliance with school policies and statutory safeguarding standards.
· Continuously evaluate intervention effectiveness to refine support plans and lead smooth transitions across primary year groups.
5. Family & External Stakeholder Engagement
· Build warm, authentic relationships with parents and carers, maintaining open communication about developmental progress, behavioural milestones, and home strategies.
· Lead parent meetings, workshops, and case conferences with empathy and clarity.
· Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and medical professionals to maintain unified care plans.
6. Operational & Co-Curricular Duties
· Assist with supervision and medication administration according to school policies and medical protocols.
· Contribute actively to the House system, Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme, and early childhood events.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, or an equivalent discipline.
