Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Equity Research Analyst – Consumer to head coverage of consumer-focused companies within Indian markets for the institutional desk.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead coverage of listed companies across the Consumer sector (FMCG, Retail, QSR, Consumer Durables, etc.)
- Develop and maintain robust financial models, earnings forecasts, and valuation frameworks
- Publish high-quality research reports including initiations, quarterly updates, thematic notes, and sector outlook pieces
- Generate differentiated, actionable stock ideas with clear catalysts and risk assessment
- Engage actively with institutional clients through meetings, calls, roadshows, and conferences
- Conduct management meetings, channel checks, and primary research to build conviction




- Collaborate closely with Sales & Trading teams to enhance institutional reach
- Track consumer demand trends, pricing dynamics, rural/urban consumption shifts, and regulatory developments
- Mentor junior analysts/associates and ensure research quality and timelines

Candidate Profile

- 6–12 years of relevant experience in Sell-Side Equity Research covering Indian markets
- Strong prior coverage of the Consumer sector with demonstrated stock-picking ability
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills (DCF, relative valuation, scenario modelling)
- Strong institutional client connect preferred
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- CA / CFA / MBA (Finance) preferred
- Robust analytical mindset, commercial acumen, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
