Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Shipbuilding Engineer with experience in shipbuilding/ship repair and cold room/cool room or refrigeration systems. The candidate will support the engineering and execution of marine refrigeration, cold room, and related shipbuilding activities.

The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of marine refrigeration systems, HVAC, cold/cool room installation, piping, insulation, equipment installation, drawings, testing, and commissioning, along with good coordination and site supervision skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the execution and supervision of shipbuilding and ship repair activities related to cold rooms, cool rooms, and refrigeration systems.
- Support the installation of refrigeration equipment, compressors, condensers, evaporators, piping, valves, insulation, and cooling units.
- Assist in the installation of cold/cool room panels, doors, flooring, ceilings, and insulation systems.
- Read and interpret GA drawings, equipment layouts, piping drawings, and refrigeration/HVAC drawings.
- Coordinate with shipyard production, mechanical, electrical, piping, HVAC, and outfitting teams.
- Monitor daily work progress, manpower, materials, and site activities.
- Assist in inspection and verification of installation work as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Support pressure testing, leak testing, testing, commissioning, and trial runs of refrigeration and cold room systems.
- Identify basic technical issues and coordinate with senior engineers for corrective action.
- Prepare daily progress reports,



inspection records, material requirements, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, technicians, vendors, and other site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with company quality and safety procedures.
- Provide technical support to supervisors and technicians during project execution.

Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, refrigeration, or related projects.
- Experience in both shipbuilding/ship repair and cold room/cool room/refrigeration systems is preferred/required.
- Basic knowledge of marine refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of refrigeration piping, insulation, equipment installation, and testing.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Positive communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work at shipyards and project locations as required.

Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in the following will be preferred:
- Marine cold rooms and freezer rooms
- Provision rooms / food storage refrigeration
- Chilled rooms and refrigeration systems
- Compressors, condensers, evaporators, and cooling units
- Refrigerant piping and insulation
- Cold room panel installation
- Marine HVAC systems
- Shipbuilding and ship repair projects
- Testing and commissioning
