Job Title: Japanese and Korean Language Teacher

1. Job Summary

The Japanese and Korean Language Teacher is responsible for teaching Japanese and Korean languages to students, helping them develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The teacher introduces students to Japanese and Korean culture, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication skills through interactive and engaging teaching methods.
1. Roles and Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver Japanese and Korean language lessons according to students’ proficiency levels.
- Teach basic to advanced vocabulary, grammar, sentence formation, pronunciation, and conversation skills.
- Teach Japanese scripts, including Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji, as appropriate to the course level.
- Teach Korean Hangul, vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures.
- Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, presentations, and learning materials.
- Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, oral tests, and written examinations.
- Introduce students to Japanese and Korean culture, traditions, etiquette, and social customs.
- Use multimedia resources, language-learning applications, audio-visual aids, and interactive activities to enhance learning.
- Prepare students for relevant proficiency examinations, such as the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK), where applicable.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback and additional support.
- Maintain attendance records, assessment reports, and other academic documentation.
- Encourage students to participate in language clubs, cultural activities, role-plays, and conversational practice.




- Coordinate with academic staff and parents, where required, to support students’ learning progress.

1. Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Japanese, Korean, foreign languages, linguistics, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant language proficiency certification is desirable.
- Teaching qualifications or prior language-teaching experience are preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Japanese and Korean appropriate to the levels being taught.

- Freshers with strong language proficiency and relevant qualifications may apply.
- Previous experience teaching Japanese and Korean languages is an advantage.

The teacher may work in a school, college, language institute, training centre, or online learning environment. The role may involve classroom teaching, individual tutoring, group activities, cultural workshops, and examination preparation.
