We are looking for an Industrial Design Engineer to lead product design and industrial engineering activities for next-generation consumer products. This is a hands-on individual contributor (IC) role focused on transforming product concepts into practical, manufacturable, and market-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate should have a robust sense of visual design combined with practical mechanical engineering expertise and the ability to take designs from concept development through production.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Design & Product Development

- Lead industrial design and product engineering activities for next-generation products.
- Design and enhance product casings, external housings, covers, and overall product layouts.
- Balance aesthetics, functionality, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability throughout the design process.

Product Engineering & Integration

- Work closely with electrical and electronics teams to integrate PCBs and other components into functional product assemblies.
- Optimize product architecture for usability, serviceability, and efficient assembly.
- Ensure high standards of fit, finish, and overall product presentation.

Prototyping & Manufacturing

- Support prototype development, design iterations, pilot builds, and production transfer.
- Coordinate with tooling vendors, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility for mass production.
- Apply strong DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.

Execution & Capability Building

- Enhance internal product design standards and the quality of industrial design execution.




- Contribute to developing scalable in-house product design capabilities in India.
- Manage multiple concurrent product development programs with strong technical ownership.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field. B.Des or M.Des qualifications are also welcome.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in industrial design, product engineering, or mechanical product development.

Technical Skills

- Strong CAD modelling and product layout skills, particularly in SolidWorks.
- Practical experience in designing product enclosures, plastic components, sheet metal parts, and related manufacturing processes.
- Sound understanding of DFM, DFA, prototyping, and production release processes.
- Experience in designing electromechanical products or home appliances.

- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams.
