Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities o9 Integration 3.0 Technical Ownership
- Act as the primary technical owner for o9 Integration 3.0 across design, build, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Design and maintain integration patterns for master, transactional, planning, and analytical data exchanged between o9 and enterprise systems.
- Assess integration requirements, define technical options, document decisions, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams, vendors, and implementation partners, and review integration deliverables for quality and maintainability.
Integration Engineering and Data Flows
- Develop, configure, enhance, and troubleshoot data ingestion and extraction pipelines, transformations, orchestration, schedules, and dependencies.
- Work with ERP, data-platform, middleware, cloud, and data-provider teams to define interface contracts, mappings, validation rules, cadence, and ownership.
- Ensure integrations correctly handle full and delta loads, sequencing, reconciliation, restorability, exceptions, and downstream dependencies.
- Perform technical analysis of complex data issues and distinguish source-data, transformation, configuration, platform, and infrastructure causes.
Batch Operations, Monitoring and Support
- Own batch-flow visibility, operational monitoring, issue triage, and technical coordination for failed or delayed integrations.
- Create and maintain batch runbooks, support procedures, error-log libraries, escalation paths, and recovery instructions that are specific to the implemented landscape.
- Lead root-cause analysis for recurring incidents and convert findings into preventive controls, automation, or design improvements.
- Support production releases, continuous improvement through Change Requests, and transition to steady-state operations, including knowledge transfer to data and support teams.
Technical Development and Automation
- Use Python where appropriate to develop plug-ins, procedures, utilities, validations, and automation that complement o9 configuration and integration capabilities.
- Apply sound software-engineering practices including version control, modular design, code review, logging, exception handling, testing, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with functional experts to translate planning requirements into secure and maintainable technical extensions without compromising platform standards.
Quality, Security and Release Governance
- Define and apply technical quality gates for integration design, code, configuration, testing evidence, deployment readiness, and documentation completeness.
- Prepare unit, system-integration, regression, performance,
and reconciliation test scenarios in collaboration with QA and functional teams.
- Ensure secure handling of credentials, access, data transfers, service accounts, certificates, and environment-specific configuration in line with approved policies.
- Identify technical debt, performance risks, and single points of failure, and maintain a prioritized improvement roadmap.
Agile Delivery and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Author and refine technical user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, estimates, dependencies, and implementation plans.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, release planning, and defect-triage forums.
- Communicate technical risks, decisions, and recovery options clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor less-experienced technical resources and strengthen internal integration capability through structured knowledge sharing.
Preferred candidate profile
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on o9 integration experience.
- Recent delivery experience on o9 implementation projects, with demonstrated ownership of Integration 3.0 work products and production outcomes.
- Strong practical knowledge of o9 Integration 3.0 concepts, tools, deployment patterns, batch processing, operational monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience integrating with SAP or other ERP systems, data platforms, middleware, file-transfer services, and cloud environments.
- Strong SQL and data-engineering fundamentals, including data modeling, mapping, transformation, reconciliation, dependency management, and performance analysis.
- Working Python programming experience for plug-ins, procedures, validation utilities, or automation.
- Experience with APIs, structured files, secure file transfer, authentication methods, scheduling or orchestration, and environment promotion practices.
- Experience producing technical integration designs, data-flow diagrams, interface specifications, deployment plans, runbooks, and support documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related discipline,
or equivalent professional experience.
Certifications
- o9 Integration 3.0 (INT3.0) certification is required; equivalent demonstrable expertise must be supported by recent project evidence.
- Additional o9 technical, platform, configuration, performance, or analytics certifications are valued.
- Relevant cloud, data engineering, integration, security, agile, or project-management certifications are advantageous.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in global IBP or supply-chain planning programs spanning Demand Planning, Supply Planning, S&OP;/IBP, and KPI or analytics solutions.
- Experience operating in a Center of Excellence model and transitioning implementation knowledge into internal support ownership.
- Exposure to customer-managed cloud or Azure-based deployments, enterprise identity integration, and secure data-transfer patterns.
- Experience improving batch performance, observability, error handling, and resilience in business-critical planning landscapes.
- Ability to contribute across integration architecture and hands-on delivery while maintaining a clear separation between standard platform configuration and custom development.
Behavioural and Leadership Skills
- Technical ownership: takes accountability for outcomes, follows issues through resolution, and makes risks visible early.
- Analytical problem solving: structures ambiguous technical problems, tests hypotheses, and produces evidence-based conclusions.
- Communication: explains complex integration behavior to both engineering teams and business stakeholders in clear language.
- Collaboration: works effectively across functional consultants, architects, data teams, infrastructure, security, vendors, and business users.
- Quality mindset: values documentation, repeatability, traceability, and sustainable support over short-term fixes.
- Coaching: strengthens team capability through reviews, standards, reusable examples, and hands-on knowledge transfer.
Success Measures
- Reliable execution of scheduled integrations with clear monitoring, ownership, and recovery procedures.
- Reduced recurrence and resolution time of integration incidents through root-cause elimination and better operational knowledge.
- Complete, current, and usable technical documentation for interfaces, batches, error handling, deployments, and support.
- Consistent compliance with design, security, testing, release, and support-readiness standards.
- Effective transfer of integration knowledge from project resources into the IBP CoE and support organization.
- Timely delivery of approved enhancements and automation with measurable improvement in platform operability and team productivity.
