Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Department (HOD) to lead our physiotherapy team, ensure high standards of clinical care, and oversee the effective functioning of the department. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and excellent clinical administration and team management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Leadership

- Lead and supervise the physiotherapy department and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assess complex cases and guide therapists in developing appropriate treatment plans.
- Ensure evidence-based clinical practices and adherence to treatment protocols.
- Monitor patient progress, treatment outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
- Handle complex cases and provide clinical guidance to the team.

2. Team Management

- Supervise, mentor, and support physiotherapists and junior staff.
- Allocate patient cases and manage therapist schedules and workloads.
- Conduct regular clinical case discussions, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Identify training needs and support the professional development of team members.
- Monitor staff performance and contribute to appraisal and evaluation processes.

3. Clinical Administration

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the physiotherapy department.
- Ensure proper maintenance of patient records, clinical documentation, and departmental reports.
- Monitor patient appointments, treatment schedules, and departmental productivity.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, SOPs,



safety standards, and professional ethics.
- Coordinate with management and other departments for smooth operations.

4. Quality Improvement

- Implement initiatives to improve clinical quality and patient outcomes.
- Monitor patient feedback and take corrective action where necessary.
- Identify opportunities to improve treatment efficiency and departmental performance.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and clinical audit requirements.

5. Patient Relations

- Maintain professional communication with patients and their families.
- Address clinical concerns and support effective resolution of patient complaints.
- Promote patient satisfaction, continuity of care, and ethical clinical practices.

Educational Qualification
- Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Neurology, Paediatrics, or Orthopaedics.

Experience
- 15–20 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Proven experience in clinical leadership, team supervision, and departmental administration is preferred.
