Job Summary:

The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day hospital operations during the assigned shift, ensuring smooth functioning of all departments, maintaining patient satisfaction, coordinating with medical and non-medical teams, and addressing operational issues promptly. The role requires robust leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to ensure quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise daily hospital operations and ensure smooth functioning across all departments during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, front office, billing, insurance, housekeeping, security, and other support departments.
- Handle patient and attendant complaints, grievances, and service-related issues professionally.
- Monitor patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and bed availability in coordination with relevant departments.
- Ensure timely escalation of medical emergencies, safety incidents, and critical operational issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Monitor patient waiting times, service quality,



and overall patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, infection control practices, safety standards, and NABH requirements, where applicable.
- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises to monitor cleanliness, infrastructure, equipment availability, and staff performance.
- Coordinate with the emergency department and clinical teams to support efficient patient flow.
- Maintain shift handover reports, incident reports, operational logs, and other required documentation.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, and duty allocation during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, security, and other support teams to resolve operational issues.
- Prepare daily shift reports and communicate pending issues to the next shift or senior management.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and adherence to hospital policies.
